Sportswriter Terry Pluto

hrspeedmerchantI don't know how many of you are regular readers of his Plain Dealer stories, or have read any of his many books, but in my opinion this guy is one of the best.
You don't have to be a fan of the Cleveland teams to appreciate Pluto. If you haven't done so already, you should check him out. -
tigerfan82I agree. One of my all time favorites in what is turning into a vanishing job......
-
osu99Pluto is the best. He doesn't sugar coat things but at the same time he doesn't join into the "sky is falling" mentality that Shaw, Livingston and most Cleveland fans have. He's very good to read.

myron pater boswellNice column today, extending thanks to 1) his readers, and those of the PD (the PD readers DESERVE some thanks...), and 2) for having the opportunity to do the job he does. Kind of self-deprecating, mocking his lack of athletic career at Benedictine, yet marveling at how he can still give LeBron advice about his shot, over-dribbling, etc.
I've grown a bit tired of his lists in his column--the '1', '2', '3', etc.--but he's at his best when he writes a column like today's, about some form of human-interest. -
Mr. 300Love hearing him when he's interviewed on the radio. Calls them like it is, and is a schill to no one.
-
royal_kOne of the best sports writers....period!
-
HesstonNever read a Pluto article I didn't like, been reading him for 20+ yrs. Great insite, sort of reminds me of Rick Reily.
-
cat_loverVery good writer. His book "Loose Balls" about the old ABA is a very good read.
-
Tigerfan00I also read the article in todays PD and he seems like a very humble guy and enjoy his writings.
-
HitsRusPluto was always the best and I used to read him regularly when he was at the Akron Beacon Journal. I was sorry to see the PD steal him away.
-
catfan4everI used to read the Beacon-Journal because of Terry and I now read most of his articles in the PD.

When he was at the BJ you could subscribe to his e-mail list for stories not found in his columns. I do miss that feature now that he's at the Plain Dealer.HitsRus wrote: Pluto was always the best and I used to read him regularly when he was at the Akron Beacon Journal. grodtPluto is right up there with Windhorst and Rick Reilly as my favorite sports writers. Loved his book about the Indians rebuilding that he wrote a few years ago.
