jordo212000I have been looking into getting one. Which ones would you guys recommend? Are there any good deals coming out in the next few days?
-
OneBuckeyeGet a Droid! They have good reviews and are now only $119!

stroupsI have the storm and it's ok, I'm sure there are better phones out there
-
jordo212000Yeah I was actually thinking about it. I am doing my capstone class project on Apple/Iphone and one of the threats was Droid.
How much will I have to pay per month for something like that (with unlimited internet... that would be the only reason to splurge IMO) -
WebFireI love my Storm. Can't beat $50 either.

raiderbuckBB Tour
Droid
Look to pay $85-$90 a month on unlimited net, basic voice, and a text plan. -
OneBuckeye
go to verizon and build your own plan. It is the same price as apples I phone plan around 70-80 bucks.jordo212000 wrote: Yeah I was actually thinking about it. I am doing my capstone class project on Apple/Iphone and one of the threats was Droid.

raiderbuckthat's with basic voice (450 minutes) and text packages, cnet did a comparo between the iPhone plan and the Droid plan with Verizon. It came out to around $90 a month or so.
If you are adding features like unlimited text or more minutes it will increase. -

Ahh ok. Yeah 450 mins wouldn't work. Just checked my bill and I'm over 450 minsraiderbuck wrote: that's with basic voice (450 minutes) and text packages, cnet did a comparo between the iPhone plan and the Droid plan with Verizon. It came out to around $90 a month or so.

OneBuckeye^ Yeah but you get unlimted free minutes to verizon customers and 5 friends and family... so that should be able to knock out the high minute hitters and you won't even see 450 in billed minutes.

True. Never thought of that...OneBuckeye wrote: ^ Yeah but you get unlimted free minutes to verizon customers and 5 friends and family... so that should be able to knock out the high minute hitters and you won't even see 450 in billed minutes. -

wildcats20Didn't you get your answers?!?
Only kidding, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not eligible to upgrade until after the first of the year, but I can't decide between a crackberry and the Droid. I've heard great things about the Droid, but I'm not a fan of the Qwerty keyboard. -
rentilreboI have a Moto Q9c and I love it but it's not too flashy. It does everything and much more than I need it to, but it's not touch screen. It's essentially perfect for me, I don't want a touch screen or BB but I want a smartphone.

hasbeenI'm a blackberry guy. I have the first gen storm and I like it. Whatever phone you get you need to find a good forum and read up on all the latest(i use crackberry.com) because your phone is only as good as you let it be. My buddy loves his Tour and once they upgrade the OS to 5.0 it should be real nice. The storm 2 is nice(but isn't worth the upgrade for me since it only adds a couple features that i don't really need yet). I have no experience with the droid.

Free_is_betterIs there any way that you can get the droid or a blackberry and not have to pay for the internet and data charges?
I am also looking into a smart phone or blackberry from verizon but 90 a month is just way to steep for me. -
Thunder70I have a BB Tour and love it. Real GPS is very helpful...
It's pointless to get a BB without the data plan. Im not even sure you can.Free_is_better wrote: Is there any way that you can get the droid or a blackberry and not have to pay for the internet and data charges? -
Woollums9data plans are required for BB....not sure for the droid
-
THE4RINGZI have first gen Storm as well. I read a ton of bad reviews about it before purchasing but have not had one bit of trouble with it. I used the internet a lot on my phone, down load attachements without problems, I even make and recieve calls. Not a big fan of some of the changes with the new 5.0 update, but all in all I am very satisfied with the phone.

Glory Days
yeah its required for the droid. i was looking to buy the droid now and in a few months when i could afford the higher priced plan, upgrade the data plan. but according to the sales dude, the phone needs the internet to turn on or something. the data plan would double my phone bill right now and it isnt worth it for me yet.Free_is_better wrote: Is there any way that you can get the droid or a blackberry and not have to pay for the internet and data charges?

oberhausIf you can hold off a little, the Tour 2 with WiFi is coming soon. The curve 2 just came out and is very nice with the new trackpad and wifi. Its a great entry level phone.
BTW......I ma typing this from my Storm 1. -
gport_tennisOn the basic 450 you don't get the friends and family. Have to be on a single line 900 plan or a family share 1400 plan to qualify for friends and family.
The droid is sweet. Internet browser is awesome, apps are great, and wifi is nice. The storm 2 is so much easier to type on. Nice big screen for interweb browsing. The touch pro 2 probably has the best keyboard for a smart phone.
I would look at one of those 3 if you are ok with touch screens. -
JawbreakerI have HTC droid and really like it. I finally got rid of my blackberry curve.
