Any Ballreich's potato chip fans out there?

  • Fab1b
Damn do I love those chips. After moving to Florida in the mid 90's this is one of the little things I miss most. I order a few boxes a few times a year and on my trips to Ohio I stock up. What are your favorite flavors?

Tops for me is the Smokey Sweet Mesquite BBQ followed by the Salt and Vinegars!

Never heard of them, where are they based out of?

My favorite Ohio-based chips are Conn's and Mike-Sell's.

They are based out of Tiffin, Oh. I only see them for sale up in NW Ohio.

Man I miss them! I went to college in Tiffin at Heidelberg and used to eat these by the bag! Now Im back home in Newark, you cant find them. (OKOK so I graduated in 2000) Im going on year 10 without Ballreich's. If I make my way up there again, Im sure ill go into the Clover Club and go on a beer and Ballreich's bender!

They are really good but Jones' are better!
  • Fab1b
Never had Jones', based out of Ohio as well? I will have to check those out but IMO it will be hard to beat Ballreichs!

The best chips ever. I grew up on Herrs and Old fashioned from Chillicothe. Didn't discover these until 2003

huge fan--my arteries are hardening just thinking about them, but that's what makes them so damn good---plenty of saturated fat, baby!!!!

Keep them away from an open flame, because of all that delicious fat and oil they're highly flammable.

Love Mike Sells, but they are not available around here anymore. Everytime I am in Columbus, I buy the MikeSells Good N Hot.

Was Born and raised in Ballreich Country!!! They are also the Official Potato Chip of The Ohio State University.

Nothing better than a bag of Ballreich's and a Jolly's Rootbeer.

My sister worked there up until about a year ago. I ate them by the box full (2 huge bags per box). I also took a tour of the plant when I was younger. Good stuff.

I would be as big as a house if I worked at that place!!

They're alright, I like them because they are usually cheap

Ballreich's are a family favorite... I can't eat too many tho because they are a little greasy for me

OSU recently started selling these exclusively in many of their dining facilities. They're alright, but I hold a grudge against them because they eliminated Sun Chips from most of the campus dining places. And if you mess with my Sun Chips, you mess with me.

    love em!

Way back in elementary school we took a field trip to the chip factory (bakery?) in Tiffin. Not sure how long those chips have been around, but that field trip was in the late 60s.

Not a big fan, but when my father in law lived in Iowa he always insisted on us bringing him a box or two.
Same when he visited, he always took a lot home.
