Law & Order - Last episode 5/24

    It does suck. Great show.

Definitely a bummer. I just hope SVU sticks around.

SVU won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah, SVU has been renewed for another year. Still, I thought L&O delivered something different w/ the play between the lawyers and police, something that SVU doesn't do a lot of (tends to be mostly detective-centric).

Sad day. I love Law and Order. SVU is awesome though glad to see it will still be around.

Great show, not as gritty as it used to be, and it became way too much "story of the moment" and way too political lately, but was definitely a quality program for many years. It probably lost its mojo when Angie Harmon left, Elizabeth Rohm didn't quite match her and I don't even know who followed her.

Honestly, this is probably one of the best shows on TV PERIOD. It's had it's share of cast changes, but it's always seemed to remain a quality drama.

I honestly thought the end of the show was when Anthony Anderson joined the cast. But apparantly, after the work he did on the shirt run "K-Ville", the producers saw something in Anderson. IMO, he's been a great addition to the show and a fantastic character in Detective Bernard. I hope they some how rap up Van Burne's cancer fight. I'd love to see what happens.

It's such a shame...because frickin' shows like American Idol, Celebrity Apprentice, and other pointless reality shows get more advertising and more views. Meanwhile, shows like LO get canned.

I enjoy SVU and original LO. Crim intent sucks.

SVU>...mariska hargitay..had a crush on her for a long time...
  • Little Danny
The show has not been the same since Jerry Orbach died. Lenny Briscoe's wit was sorely missed. I thought Briscoe and Curtis was the best detective pairing in the show's history with Briscoe and Green a close second.

Angie Harmon and Carey Lowell were the best ADA's. Those were the best years of Law and Order. I used to love episodes when JK Simmons would make an appearance as the psychiatrist, Dr. Skoda. Adam Schiff was the best DA, if nothing else for the constant antagonism between he and Jack McCoy.

I can't believe how long this show has been on. My dad died in 1995 and he watched this show. It was one of his favorites.
    Reruns will be around forever.

    Abby Carmichael is the GOAT.

A late fan of Law and Order, girlfriend got me hooked.

Heard today, TNT might, just might pick it up, just like they did Southland.

Also, I wonder how the Law and Order: LA will be?

If the rumors are true and Christopher Meloni leaves SVU,and they don't get a huge star to replace him...SVU is done
  • pkebker
There are rumors Meloni might leave?! I haven't heard these....source? That would be terrible

I can't wait for LOLA. But I have found that the success of these shows is almost all about the detectives. If they pick good actors, the show will be good. If they can't the show will die. I think that is what has happened to LO. This last pairing of detectives was pretty terrible.

While I prefer SVU, I love Law & Order. Besides it being a great show, it has created a bunch of jobs in NYC, as it is filmed in New York (other shows, like Seinfeld and NYPD Blue, were based in New York but filmed elsewhere).

That being said, like Little Danny mentioned, this show took a hit when it lost Jerry Orbach. Great screen presence, and a tremendous character: that cold yet witty humor, fantastic. RIP big guy.
