Do you still live in your hometown?
-
cat_loverI still live in my hometown. Left for college and worked away from Newark for a couple of years then I moved back because of family circumstances.
-
j_crazymaybe when I retire and have the money to build, I'll build a house there. Until then (i.e. while I need to MAKE money) I have no desire to go back to Lowell, Ohio.
-
Con_AlmaIsn't where you live your hometown?
-
SnotBubbles^^^
Bellefontaine, OH is where I "live," in no way do I consider it my "hometown." My "home" is wear I grew up...just my opinion though.... -
ernest_t_bassMy wife always tries to correct me when I say I'm "going home," when referring to going to mom and dad's. It will always be my "home," as that is where I've spent most of my life. Now, if I die where I am now, then it will be my home.
-
krambmanKinda. I spent more time growing up in Urbana, OH (11 years), but I consider New Albany (8 year resident) to be my hometown because that's the place I remember best and where all of my good friends are from. I currently live on the west side of Columbus, so since New Albany is a suburb of Columbus I kind of still live in my home town, but not really. If I had the chance though, I'd move back to New Albany in an instant.

That is one definition. The most commonly used definition, however, is the place where one was born and/or grew up.Con_Alma wrote: Isn't where you live your hometown? -
Con_AlmaAt what point can where you live be considered your hometown? If one "grew up" in a place for 18 years and has currently resided in another town for 27 years can it then be considered his/her hometown?
Are the different definitions and the one chosen as being applied determined by the user? -
se-alumI've always considered ones hometown to be where they spent the majority of their childhood years.
-
Fab1bLove to visit but no plans to move back to Oak Harbor, OH. Reside in Jacksonville, FL about a 1,000 miles away or so.
-
FatHobbitI do still live in my hometown. For now I have no plans to move, but that will probably change someday. (I have a 12 year old daughter who live with her mother. Once she's out of high school I think I will reevaluate things, but until then I want to be around her as much as possible.)

I personally would call the place where I grew up my "hometown" and my current residence my "home", but I suppose it's up to the individual.Con_Alma wrote: At what point can where you live be considered your hometown? I Wear PantsWhere's the "Yes, I still live in the house I grew up in" option?
-
KR1245Born and raised in NE Ohio. Might head back up when I'm done with school
-
Con_AlmaDepending on how it's used I too think it's up to the individual. With that being said I "still" live in my hometown. I have lived here since we built this house. It not far from where I was born and raised.
-
NateGrew up in Chillicothe also. Live in Bellevue now. Plan on leaving Bellevue one day but it won't be for Chillicothe. I have no desire to ever live their again. The women are fat and the town smells. I'm hoping to one day end up around Columbus.
-
gorocks99Didn't live in one place long enough to have a "hometown" - born in one place, had two different elementary schools, two different middle schools (in different states), two different high schools (in different states).
-
Fab4RunnerI do not live in my hometown (Plymouth, OH) and probably never will again. I loved growing up there but it's too far from a lot of things. I want my kids to go to a small school like I did but also have the conveniences of a larger city nearby.
-
fortfanI thought that where you lived was your hometown. Where would my "hometown" be? I was born in Toledo, lived in Point Place, Risingsun, Dunkirk, Willshire and Fort Recovery. I consider Fort Recovery my hometown as that is where I live now.
Do I win the "lived in most places nobody heard of" award? -
Fab4RunnerI consider my hometown the place where I grew up. I lived in Plymouth for 18 years and then again during some summers and holiday breaks. I will never consider another place my hometown no matter how long I live there.
-
GoChiefsMy option isn't up there either. "No, but I would love to go back!". Born and raised in Logan. That will always be home! Live in Massillon now. Would LOVE to go back to Logan though.
