Have you ever been scammed?

When the PS2 came out a bunch of years ago(i think 2000ish) i bought one online from what i thought was a reputable website. well they didnt take too long to charge the credit card, but about 2-3 weeks later, still no PS2 in my hands. we eventually found out we werent the first ones to get ripped off by them and luckily the credit card company was nice to us.

    Scammed? No. Identity stolen? Yep.

Yep. Had an ex who got me to believe he was smarter than a bottle of shampoo.

    He wasn't.

If we did, we were completely oblivious to it. I'm pretty sure we have never been scammed.

Yeah, by that damned Nigerian Prince.

I know some people that paid 10 or 15 dollars for a lifetime membership to a internet forum only to have the forum come back a few years later and try and charge them 12 dollars a year!

I have great offer for you. My client, the HONORABLE Nendayo Mbyhge has passed off and left our bank with $5.9 billion. If unclaimed this money goes away so I ask you to send me all your bank infomration as I can tell you are bright and honest of great character so I can put the money there and then we can split it.

    Praise be unto GOD!

I love those emails. I've screwed with those scammers a couple of times. Strung one out about 5-6 emails before losing interest. Since they all seem to emphasise their religious nature, I posed as a priest at a home for wayward girls and tried to cram as many innuendoes in each email as possible.

I almost got caught up in a door to door sales job with CAP Marketing back in college. It was a job that I saw on Careerbuilder.com. Sent my resume, chick called me back, and I set up an interview. I found out about the scheme a day before the interview, I quickly called and cancelled.

I had a friend that actually went on the interview. She says that the took her out to some residential area and just basically started giving her on the job training. She didn't have the heart to tell them she wasn't interested. She was doing door to door sales for about 5 hours that day.

Vector Marketing called me to try to get me involved in their knife selling scam. I found out it was a scam after setting up an interview and then canceled it.

Someone has tried to scam before. I was in high school, and it was an honor student, prestigious conference in DC that I would have had to pay for.

I got scammed by a guy on eBay who had a perfect feedback rating of about 950. He got me and about 20 others....turns out he'd served time for fraud a few years before as well.

After attending a Tribe game I was walking down East 9th Street between the ballpark and Prospect Ave with by sister and her boyfriend. This guy came up to us and told us that he had just gotten into an argument with his wife and that she had left with their car which had his wallet inside, and that he needed some money for bus fare to get home. I wanted to ignore him and keep going, but my sister's boyfriend gave him $5 and we continued on.

2-3 weeks later I went to another Tribe game with a friend. Afterwards we were walking down east 9th in about the same area...and that same exact guy walked up to us and gave us the exact same story. I stood there and let him finish, and then replied "you told me this exact same bullshit a few weeks ago, go bother someone else" and we kept going

anyone ever come across a similar scam?

Everything on CareerBuilder is a scam. I know they provide a free service, but you think they would do a better job sorting out the shit.

    Monster isn't much better.

Yes, and would shoot him dead today if it were legal and I didn't have a conscience.
