UVA lacrosse player charged with first degree murder against female lacrosse player

sherm03Must have just been an initiation thing.
When I played Lacrosse at Xavier, I had to murder and rape someone (in that order). It was an initiation into the team...you know, some rookie hazing. I didn't get caught...so it sucks for this guy.
In all seriousness, it's a sad situation. I feel bad for both families, and if the guy was in the wrong, hopefully justice is served. If this is all just crazy talk, hopefully it doesn't ruin the rest of his life. -

from my friend i heard that she was not actually intoxicated, but that he called the cops and said she was to try to hide it...again that is hearsay so its not 100% true but makes senseCinciX12 wrote: The majority of drunken females on college campuses have someone who wants to strangle them. Its just unfortunate this guy apparently snapped and didn't have someone to talk him down. -

A US lacrosse site says lacrosse is the fastest growing sport, never saw that coming. It's called marketing. The only reason it appears to grow faster is because it started at essentially zero participation in the early 90s. It can make you look like you are gorwing exponentially fast when people have only be playing for about 20 years.UA5straightin2008 wrote: "Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. Youth participation in the sport has grown over 138% since 2001 to nearly 300,000. No sport has grown faster at the high school level over the last 10 years and there are now an estimated 228,000 high school players. Lacrosse is also the fastest-growing sport over the last six years at the NCAA level with 557 college teams in 2009, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are more than 500 college club programs, including nearly 200 women's teams that compete at the US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates level."

UA5straightin2008jesus christ people get over it, websites (especially a .org) cant just throw around stats like that without them being true, their called facts, if you look on other websites you will see that lacrosse, among others like mma, are said to be the fastest growing sports, however i dont see many parents signing their kids up for mma fights. did you know that michigan state has multiple lacrosse national championships? they were a powerhouse before title nine took away their program, much like they took away BC's, NCSU, VT, etc. Title IX hurt lacrosse just as bad as it hurt sports like wrestling, but lacrosse is finally gaining popularity again. but this thread isnt about the growth of lacrosse. i said one sentence about it and every freaks out because "their is no way that kids sport is faster growing than mine blah blah blah". a 22 year old life has been taken way to early. thats what this is about. my god
