Who Wins in a Game of 21?

  • ernest_t_bass
Between these four, and only these four, who wins the game of 21?

    Michael Jordan
    LeBron James
    Kobe Bryant
    Dwight Howard

    Great thread Ernest.

Honestly, I have no idea, but Dwight doesn't have a real shot.
  • I Wear Pants
Dwight doesn't have a chance seeing as he can't shoot free throws or as well from outside as the other guys.

I'd say either Jordan or Lebron and probably Lebron if we're basing this off real life 21 which gets pretty rough and Lebron could finish with the contact.

My guess would be LeBron. Howard's free throw shooting would rule him out. I give the edge to LeBron due to his size advantage. I think he could muscle the other two around.

I honestly don't think the game would have a winner, as it would probably end in a DQ lmao

shit i saw D12 at the top before reading the thread and voted for it, thinking it was the rap group eminem started lol, guess that was a bonehead move seeing how it doesnt relate at all lol

I thought the same thing UA5. I've never heard of him being called D12.

I think Lebron would be the favorite.
  • ernest_t_bass
I think Jordan would win, as his wisdom and experience would have him getting points left and right. It's not always the best player that wins the game, but the smartest.

Well, who is going to be able to score the ball on the other three the most often?

    I'd take LeBron.

Howard, no way. But he'd camp in the paint, then one of the three perimeter players would have to get by 2 great defenders and THEN Howard. I'd like LeBron because of size and athleticism--he can score, and actually out rebound Howard. I think they'd all have a hard time scoring if they played hard. Who knows really, but I'd love to watch it.

I think you can rule out Dwight because he's not very good at shooting. Usually, everyone fouls whenever someone tries to take it into the bucket, so whoever wins is going to have to be a pretty good shooter - which Dwight is not. I think you can rule out Jordan because of his age. If we were talking about Jordan in his prime, then no question Jordan wins.

That leaves Kobe and LeBron. Kobe is the better shooter. LeBron is the better slasher. I went with LeBron because I think LeBron could handle the physical banging whereas Kobe would have to rely purely on his outside shooting. Just my opinion.

Jordan...Kobe and Bron wouldn't win, they'd be too busy whining about no calls.
  • ernest_t_bass
Edit to poll... Jordan while he was still in playing shape. Not necessarily in his "prime." Just playing shape.
  • mtrulz
Michael couldn't shoot the last time he played, so he's out.

Dwight is only good from the block-in, so he's out.

    So either Kobe or LeBron.

3D or all day?? And if their were tips nobody would win. If it was 3D and no tips then i would pick Lebron.
  • sleeper
    I'll take the GOAT.
  • allstar
    whoever's left alive, probably.

I actually voted Jordan thinking it was HORSE. Now that I am no longer in my hungover coma, and realize its 21, I would switch to LeBron.
  • SQ_Crazies
I don't even think I could pick a favorite for HORSE.

You have to assume all players in their prime or else it is a waste of time to even have the poll.

All of you Lebron voters are kidding yourselves.

MJ wins and dominates because he can score from anywhere, he makes his free throws after his baskets, and he plays defense all over the court.

Kobe is 2nd...again simply due to the ability to hit the outside shot.

Then it comes down to Lebron and Howard. If Lebron can hit a jumper, he gets 3rd. If it turns into an inside game...Howard is 3rd.

These guys couldn't hold MJs jock in his prime.

A better game of 21 would be MJ, Bird, Maravich, and Oscar Robertson.

I'm a Bulls fan, and obviously a huge Jordan fan. However, Kobe has the sweetest shot I've seen. I think he'd win it.

This depends on if we're taking these three today, or in their prime.

If we're talking today then no question it's LeBron. As others have said, Howard doesn't have a good enough shot and would be too slow defensively. Jordan is old and I don't think that he'd be able to keep up right now. That leaves us with Kobe and Lebron and right now, today, LeBron is a better scorer and all around player so he'd win.

If we're talking in their prime, then that can't be answer. Jordan was ridiculous at his best and I think he'd best Kobe in his prime. With LeBron and Dwight Howard it's hard to judge because I'm not sure that we've seen LeBron in his prime and I'm positive that we've haven't seen Howard in his. So if we're talking in their prime, we'll have to wait a few years to answer that.

In Jordan's hey day, he was a tremendous shooter. I'm assuming we're talking about when each of these guys was in his prime. If so, I'd have to go with Jordan. The other three guys can shoot really well but I'm sticking with Jordan. Now if the question is which of these guys is most likely to hit .300 in Major League Baseball, I'd have to rank MJ sixth in this four person field.
