Benny The JetOut of those 2...the G530 gets my vote.

se-alumGet a MAC.
Figured I go ahead and get that out of the way. Even though I'm an Athlon fan, I also say the G530. -

This one still gets the nod from me, although it's ugly.Benny The Jet wrote: Out of those 2...the G530 gets my vote. -
Automatiklol....what kind of Mac do you suggest he get for $450? Used iBook?
Depends what size you want. I don't like typing on netbooks...I'd go with the 530 -

dlazzthe processor in the T60 you just posted is probably better than the ugly lenovo in the first post.
I say "probably" because I have no idea, since Target only put that it was a "Dual Core Pentium" which isn't beneficial. Let me poke around the Internets and see if I can find something better. -
gerb131I have an ASUS netbook and I love it, just no CD/DVD drive but I have the home computer for that.

I Wear PantsI wouldn't get a Pentium now what with the Core 2 Duos and even better Core i5 and Core i7 processors that Intel has out. Or the very competitively priced for the performance Phenom line from AMD.

bo shemmy3337The 530 is a better computer IMO. 1.6ghz is not fast enough IMO. I don't recommended anything lower than 2ghz. I am a computer tech major BTW.

Me neither. Pentiums are great processors for Home computers but not Laptops. They are known to get extremely hot and are a poor choice for a laptop. -

Although to be honest, in the heyday of the Pentium the Athlon 64 was always better.bo shemmy3337 wrote:I Wear Pants wrote: I wouldn't get a Pentium now what with the Core 2 Duos and even better Core i5 and Core i7 processors that Intel has out. And you frequently pop into these threads and don't know what you're talking about.bo shemmy3337 wrote: The 530 is a better computer IMO. 1.6ghz is not fast enough IMO. I don't recommended anything lower than 2ghz. I am a computer tech major BTW.
1. Processor speed is meaningless.
2. The memory speed is clocked slower than the other two.
I'm convinced you're still in high school.
