The Office "Shareholders Meeting" 11/19

  • jordo212000
Michael is invited to the shareholders meeting by David Wallace. He asks Dwight, Andy, and Oscar to tag along. Jim stays back in the office and has to deal with a lazy Ryan. from TV Guide

I've actually really liked Ryan's character lately. I think it's been hilarious!

yeah I am with you. the show has rounded back into the strong form from the 2nd and 3rd seasons

Yeah I'd agree about Ryan. I hated his character and the storylines for the past 2 seasons. But this season he has been pretty funny.

Sounds like it will be a good episode..I've been diggin' this season so far.

When Ryan dressed up like a twilight vamp and mocked Creed, that was genius.

not to ruin anything for j_crazy, but I really loved the end of last weeks episode... HILARIOUS!!!

A very strong effort tonight for the office crew. The shareholders meeting was everything you would expect from placing Michael Scott in that sort of high pressure environment. The plot back in Scranton was almost as good. Jim's method of dealing with a petulant Ryan was pretty inspired stuff as well.

I have loved alot of the episodes this season, but I thought this one was terrible.

I thought this one was bad as well. So far, I thought the Wedding episode was the best.

I usually defend this show but I didn't think tonight's episode was very good.

It wasn't a great episode, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some from last season. I still laughed out loud a few different times.

Does anybody think Michael will end up as the new CEO? Leaving Jim as the new branch manager.

Am I the only one who thinks this show is fucking god awful??
  • wonderboy02
This episode was a completely missed opportunity. Michael's character has become unbearable. In the past he's been goofy and not self aware, but like the episode at Chili's where he makes the huge sale and hooks up with Jan, it was great because Michael despite his unorthodox methods actually did his job.

They could have easily had Michael stumble onto a great idea that swings the meeting and made it hilarious. Even if it was something so ridiculous it might work. Instead they took the easy way out and had Michael screw up and run away. Just lazy writing.

    Great premise. Terrible execution.

It was no worse, or on the other hand, no better than the last 4 or 5 weeks.
  • BuckeyeBlue
I agree with wonderboy about Michael. I'm pretty disappointed in the direction they have decided to take the character.

The show is still better than most of the crap on television, but it has slipped from where it was a few seasons ago.

There would be no show then.

yes, at least on a thread about the Office.

    I agree with this.

BJ Novak (Ryan) and John Krasinski (Jim) went to high school together and were both Ivy leaguers. I think they have a great acting repoire with each other, this explains it.

    I laughed a few times.

I liked it when Dwight was standing in line for a microphone and then he saw one with no line...so he went for it...and then all of the sudden it filled up, so he tried to go back, but by then the lines were all really ridiculously long haha.

God awful?? No. Anyone that thinks it is God awful just doesn't get the comedy.
