Banning guns works well!

113 homicides so far is an astronomical number. Its not even summer yet when I would guess most homicides take place.

sounds like it is mostly gang violence. which means banning guns or giving every citizen a gun wouldnt matter much. the national guard could be used in a presence patrol sense where they are just out there being seen and just hanging out at public locations. and of couse like the article said, the intelligence and air units could be used.

Of course it is gang violence. Which bears asking the question, why the hell would you ban guns from law abiding citizens when criminals will always have them.

yeah, you can ask that question. but it doesnt really matter, i am willing to bet that most of the murder victims are gang members. you can give every citizen 10 guns, its not going to solve the problem they have now.

Well, if every murder is strictly gang violence, why not just let them kill themselves? If it doesn't affect anyone but gangs, why the need for the national guard?

I'm not trying to solve their problem, I could care less about some thugs shooting each other. The point is, banning guns does nothing to cease violence. Which was my point.

A lot of young naive teen boys are sucked into these gangs. They lack a stable family and likely no father figure. Trust me there are many scum bags in these gangs that aren't worth a pile of shit, but that is no reason to let lawlessness run amok. It is worth the effort to save some of the young men caught up in this bullshit. Also any civilized society should never allow rampant lawlessness to exist within its jurisdiction.

cops need to shoot first ask questions later make thugs think first before they want to commit crimes and get a slap on the wrist

That is what they do in Jacksonville, shoot up them thugs!!! Jacksonville (I don't have the numbers) has a high police involving shooting number.

Of course then the outcry all the time from the family of the thug that has a rap sheet a mile long, joined forces with the NAACP and cry foul every damn time no matter what happened to cause the shooting!

Suicide by cop is a pretty popular way to go.

The article states that 113 have been killed so for this year in Chicago. In comparison 127 American troops have died this year in Iraq and Afghanistan combined (99 were hostile deaths). I would say there is a serious problem in Chicago.

Because innocent people will eventually be caught in the crossfire. break the ban.

GD- I will also be going to Chicago in a few weeks. Of course I will be in Wrigleyville, so I won't be in the worst parts of Chicago, but I will still be staying in well lit areas.

You'd think that governments would learn by now. Especially since it has been years since "Death Wish" series came out
