Is there anything to do in Steubenville....

  • tuskytuffguy
....at night? I'll be passing through tomorrow(saturday) night around 10-11pm. Is there anyplace that is like a Panini's to get a bite and a brew? I know how to get around the town, just don't know what's actually there. Hell, one person told me I don't want to be there after 10:00. Especially the bottom of the hill, lol. Any info? I may just say to hell with Steuby and go to Mountaineer. I'll be coming from East Liverpool.

10-11 Applebees or there is a bar by the K-mart a lot of people go to. Maybe Lancelots. Head to Mingo though and go to Hillsboro!

Depends on what kind of night life you are looking for... There are a few bars and clubs you can go to...

Triple Play Cafe: In the mall plaza next to K-Mart. Haven't been there in a while, but Saturday night used to be ladies night with a DJ. There is also a club that is owned by the same people directly next door.

909: Its inside the bowling alley on university blvd. Haven't been there in a while either, not sure what to expect on a saturday night.

CJ's: Kind of a quiet place in the plaza by tim horton's on sunset. Your most likely to find just a few patrons there that frequent the place.

Manfred's: This is usually the "rowdy" place in town, its right next to M&M hardware on sunset blvd. Hasn't been anything interesting happen as of lately, but has potential to get rowdy :)

Spot Bar: Downtown on S. 4th street, wouldn't recommend this place unless you know a lot of the locals, might get pretty lonely... But they do have sports on most times.

Lancelots: Right on the Steuebnville/Wintersville boarder. Great wings, decent atmosphere. Saturday night the band U.S. Kids will be there, they play mostly classical rock and some newer tunes. Nice place to relax.

Zalenski's: This resturant/bar is on the west side of wintersville just past Indian Creek High School on the right. They are also said to have good wings, but I do not care for them at all. However, they have a DJ there and the atmosphere is generally geared towards 35 and up. A good place to go to watch the Pens play, hear some music, and relax in a welcoming atmosphere.

    Hope that helped...

Thx son, finally, an informative post. So tell me, if I go to Manfred's and start talking shit about Big Red football, will it be getting rowdy? Lol, j/k.

If you're a smart man, avoid Steubenville altogether. Especially after dark.

Actually "the bottom of the hill" is pretty safe now a days, as there is no one left downtown to bother anyone.

As for stuff to do, I guess it depends on if you want to drink or not, which SOS has already covered.

This sure isn't your grandfathers Steubenville anymore.

If you had a cousin in Steubenville you could have a date for Friday

Steubenville is an old mill town, not a hillbilly town (same for Weirton).

Best chance for that is Spot Bar or Triple Play.

Pretend the city is located in Pennsylvania? That seems to be a local favorite

    Tusky,

    How did it go?

I had planned on just going to Mountaineer, but we didn't get out of E. Liverpool till 11:30, so I scratched that idea. Got to Steuby at around midnight, so I just hit up the Speedway near the old arena for some powerbars and just headed on home. I still had a bit of a drive ahead of me. But, once I got home, the brews finally flowed and I got to watch some more fighting in front of my house, lol, since there's a bar nearby. A short chic fight too, btw, in which one lost everything she wore up top.

All in all, I think I made the better choice of just heading home. 1 1/2 hour drive each way, and sitting thru 5 hours of fights, so it was a long evening.

Downside was Steubenville's own Kellen Hughes lost his Main Event fight. He was one of the reasons I went there. 4 of the 5 guys from a local gym I frequent won, with Kellen the loss.

Kellen is a pretty tough dude. He was a good few years behind me in High School. Nice kid though.
