Question about noise-cancelling headphones
-
ohiobucks1Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for my house next year
I have two questions:
1. Will they even prevent me from hearing noise as I try to sleep? Like if there is a party going on downstairs (I have a downstairs room) and I'm trying to sleep will they actually make me hear 'nothing'?
2. If so, what is a good pair to buy?
thanks guys -
wes_mantoothI have Bose Quiet Comfort 2....they will def drown out the backround noise. The problem is that they are around 300 bucks.

ohiobucks1what do you mean by backround noise? Does that mean that if I put them on and there is a party in the living room I will hear silence? If so, 300$ is worth it

wes_mantoothHonestly, it doesn't take the noise down to silence, but it reduces it a helluva lot. The Bose headphones were designed for airlines, so you don't have to hear engine noise. To me, they are worth every penny, but they will not completely eliminate it.

Not completely eliminate it, but it actually can create a nice "buzz" in the background. You cant make out what is being said, so it can be a nice noise to help you sleep.ohiobucks1 wrote: what do you mean by backround noise? I know for me, I cant sleep in silent. I have to have TV on, fan on, window open, something that creates a small amount of noise. I live by the highway and during the summer with the window open it is a great noise to hear to sleep to. I liken that to what the headphones do (but ive only used them like 3-4 times). -
brutus161My wife and I have both have a pair of Logitech ones. We like them alot, and they cost alot less than the Bose.

dlazzI have some Skullcandy Titan buds...they are noise-reducing, but they aren't comfortable enough for me to sleep in. Your best bet is to just get ear plugs.

ohiobucks1thanks everyone for your advice!
I wonder if they make noise cancelling headphones that have an alarm! -
SpeedofsandI have Bose Triport headphones. Very comfortable and unbeatable sound quality.

dlazzI've used those before and they were average. They were light, however.
