Super Mario Bros. 2

gorocks99Original Mario: Classic
Mario 3: Classic
Mario 2: WTF.
-
ts1227Awesome in its own way though, particularly the music.
Mario 3 FTW though -
krazie45Mario 3=GOAT
The leaf that gave you the fox tail was the shit... -
bigdaddy2003I like all of them but 3 is my fave.
-
Goldenboy263 is far and away the best. but I enjoy playing them all, 2 is just so much different than the others
-
thePITmanAfter playing versions 2 and 3, go back to playing version 1, and you get angry that your man cannot jump over a shoe box, let alone a monster or a brick wall.
-
Mohican00Not an awful game but I think drugs may have been involved.
oh and fuck you ice level
-
ts1227FYI: The reason it's so fucked up is because for whatever reason someone decided to remake a Japanese game and just replace the characters to fit Mario.

BigAppleBuckeyeI thought Mario 2 was the shit back in the day! Then again, I ate a lot of paint chips as a kid haha.
Still no Zelda though, that game ruled. -
trackandccrunnerI hated Mario 2 compared to the others. But 3 is far and away the best.
-
Little DannyDamn, I remember playing the origninal one at the arcades back in the 80's. Further evidence I am getting old..
-
vdubb96I remember being in grade school and there was a line at the local gas station/party shop that just got the original super mario bros. arcade. It was nuts. People would wait forever just to play.
-
I Wear PantsIn before "New Super Mario Bros. Wii".
-
End of LineMario>Zelda
-
j_crazymario 3 is my fave.
mario 2? SMH -
HereticAs already said, SMB 2 was a different game that got Mario characters put in it. The actual Japanese SMB 2 did eventually get released in America on the SNES as part of Super Mario All-Stars. It was called the Lost Levels.
Basically, it was SMB 1's game engine, graphics, etc. with a much higher difficulty. I also think there were minor differences between Mario and Luigi as far as jumping ability. I haven't played it yet, but probably will work around to it one day, as it's one of like 300 games on my computer. -
wes_mantoothI hated Mario 2 at first, but it grew on me. Mario 3 is the GOAT
-
iclfan2Mario 3 was awesome.
-
HereticYeah, Mario 3 was far above the first couple games. The only flaw it had (which was corrected for the SNES Super Mario All-Stars) was that there wasn't any password/battery feature. Back in the day, my parents weren't big into letting me have those all-day "NOTHING BUT NINTENDO" sessions, so it just seemed I'd be rushing through the game with warps and skipping half the levels.

Zelda LttP made you earn your money's worth! -
FabioThats funny, because all of my friends preferred SMB2 over SMB3. I liked SMB1 the best out of the first 3, though in terms of "traditional" style mario games, my favorite is hands down super mario world for SNES. Other than that, a personal favorite is Super Mario RPG.

The first time I played that, I don't know how many times I got killed trying to kill the clock!Fabio wrote: Other than that, a personal favorite is Super Mario RPG. -
Fabio
lol yea me too, i feel that's one of those games that's almost mandatory to get a players guide.CenterBHSFan wrote:

On a relatively cool note, a skating rink about 5 miles south of my hometown has the original donkey kong vs. mario arcade game. -
quaker0764I think I've beat all of the games except for the SMB1. The best though is SMB 3.
-
baseballstud24How in the hell have you never beaten SMB1? In my prime, I could take it down in 8 minutes. Never got close to beating SMB2...got to the final level in SMB3, but I never could beat it.
