    TBS? Interesting move.
  • Big Red Monster
I was going to say the same thing.

What happened with the FOX deal?
  • LJ
    TBS? lol

At least it gets rid of the George Lopez show
  • Big Red Monster
It will be Monday-Thursday and start at 11pm

Conan will be 11-12 and George Lopez moves to Midnight

TBS will let him do anything, should be fun to watch.

This could be epic. Too bad hes on a smaller network, but most of America gets it anyway.

It will probably be good for him. No real pressure for ratings. I will watch that is for sure. Plus, on TBS, he will literally be able to do anything.

Interesting move, I don't really follow late night talkshows but I really like Conan. Any word on his paycheck? Did HBO or a Showtime come after him?
  • RedRider1
A lot of variety in the shows that will lead into Conan.....The Office, Family Guy, The Tyler Perry Shows.

Those are some wide ranging demographics.
  • ohiotiger33
Family guy's audience will be perfect for him.

Probably the smartest move, but I'd have loved to see him go to Fox and compete head to head with Leno. He'd lose at first, but Leno's audience will be dead within 5 years so he could take the lead then.

This seemed like a weird fit to me at first, but now I'm starting to think that it may make an eventual shift to CBS and take over of the Late Show easier.

I agree, I'm sure TBS is a short term move. If he went to Fox and flopped it would be tough to take over for Letterman.

Coco will be on 60 Minutes tonight.

My band got an interesting email from a music producer we met from California that asked us if she could send our myspace link to Conan's crew. Apparently one of Conan's close friends likes our music and wanted it forwarded to their people hahaha I guess they want independent small comedy bands...??

That was really good interview imo. He wanted so bad to talk bad about Leno and NBC, and for the most part (or really the whole part) took the high road.

isn't he under contract to take the high road? i thought it was a good interview too, but i was under the impression that if he says something bad about nbc/leno, he has to give back the money or pay some sort of penalty.

Yeah, I think there are many parts to the contract and he gets released from each part after certain dates. I believe his interview tonight was the first stipulation he was released from.

yes, but he took the high road in on questions that he couldve answered without breaching the contract. Like, do you think you got screwed?

I think the biggest reason Conan signed with TBS is that he retains full intellectual rights to the material on his show. On NBC, the network had the rights to the material, and therefore he cannot bring a lot of his old skits with him to TBS. However, anything new he comes up with on TBS he will be able to bring with him if/when he moves to CBS.

They're hyping the hell out of this and it doesn't start until November. All this hype for something to fall flat on it's face.

There is an anti-defamation clause in the settlement that must be acknowledged by both Conan and NBC.

I wish he was flat-out replacing Lopez...
