Mushrooms

  Just wondering how many have found mushrooms (morels), and if so what part of the state?

  A little early yet but be quiet when you hunt them. I got right around 2lbs of them last year off the father in laws property. He raked in an additional 12lbs of them. He more or less sets aside 50 acres or so and tries to grow them but they are abundant out there and he won't let anyone else come out there or he will shoot at ya.

  Took the kids out today we found about a quart size ziplock full. There weren't many left since my dad has over 10lbs at the house after taking the week off just to mushroom hunt. At least I got to bring a few bags back with me.

  I don't have any yet, but when i do, the dogs eat them then come inside and shit all over the place. The one dog tries to eat the poo.

  I suggest you keep the shrooms away from the dogs. Clearly they are getting a doggie high from them and are desperate like junkies to the point they eating each others shit to continue their high.

  My parents find about 300-400 each year in their woods (Wayne County). The most we've found in one year was a little over 900.

  My neighbor has collected about 5 lbs. so far. I think he hunts near Bucyrus.
