Worst ride ever………and you titled it
-
Belly35First kid was born, change jobs, moved back to Canton, bought my second house and life was good…..
The company I worked for provide a car 1972 maybe 74 Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon.
This car was from hell……Sometimes it would start, wiper did work half the time, tire was always out of alignment, brakes where trouble always, fuses blow weekly…..the engine was good and had some power but everything else was crap…….
Never again would I buy a Ford.........However that changes now some of the Ford Products are very good.
What your worst ride? and why? -
killdeerfirst car 1974 AMC Hornet hatch...
floor boards nearly gone with rust by the time I got rid of it...
also seemed to constantly have electrical and timing issues.
Did make use of the fold down rear compartment a time or two though

McFly195592 buick regal....I'm 23 years old now. Had the car from 16-18 years old....Transmission went out.
It was a gradual demise, the car would just shut off at intersections, then it would hesitate a bit when trying to accelerate, then it would hesitate a LOT when trying to accelerate, which made driving it very dangerous. Everything shut off one day while driving 35mph or so on a busy road, steering went out, brakes weren't doing crap, but I managed to safely pull it in a lot behind a Christian book store....Towed it home, 2 mechanics looked at it and said it would need $1500+ of work, sold it to some guy for $300 who wanted to rebuild it, bought a new car... -
Buckeye2B1976 Fiat X 1/9. I bought it in response to losing the purchase of a sweeeet MG midget during my college years. These things were notorious for vapor lock, and it had the mechanical fuel pump replaced with an electric one. Even then, it never quite ran right. I took it to college to have a sweet ride, but it ended up being a pain in the backside and cost me more than it was worth to try to keep it on the road.
The other nightmare vehicle was a 1988 Ford Bronco II. Bought it just to use as a 4WD utility vehicle, but the 1.9 liter engines were horrible for compression issues. Unbeknownst to me, the heads were cracked and got worse as I drove it. $1300 to replace them, and a year later, I had to replace the engine because the new heads from Jaspers in Indiana, did the same damn thing. There went another $1000 dropping in a used engine, and not three months later, the heads on the used engine did it too. Bottom line, was that I needed to drop a larger engine in that fat little Bronco II, but by that time, I had had enough. I junked it.

I bought a black EXP turbo at a car auction pretty cheap in high school. Within a few months it had a hole in one of the cylinders the size of a half dollar. That particular afternoon, River Rd. did not have any mosquitoes.... -

Cat Food Flambe'1976 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel.
I liked the car itself, but the thing ate head gaskets (three in the five years I owned it, and needed a new exhaust system about every spring. Plus - I had to keep the block heater plugged in all winter long. -
