Just remember, I got 11 raffle tickets last year and came up empty handed.

I learned it's nothing to get carried away with.

I like the variety of prizes this year though.

    I will participate.

    Can you buy them anywhere?

I find it hard enough to justify purchasing a 5 dollar lotto ticket let alont a 20 dollar one.

Picked up #027385 today around 3:30 pm.

haven't ever bought a lotto ticket. not that i frown upon the lottery..i just find a variety of other ways to piss my money away :(

i did it last year, had 4 tickets, didn't win anything...and i'll get into it again this year. Probably a stupid decision but whatever i suppose...

I'll save my money. Like I always have with the lottery.

I had 11 tickets last year and nothing.

They removed the four 100,000.00 prizes this year and created several smaller prizes to increase odds.

I still won't be running out and buying 11 raffle tickets again this year.

I do have one so far and it's only Thanksgiving.

Big drop off between $1M and $10K, I would rather see some med. large prizes. $10K doesn't really change anyone's life...but $100K or $250 K does. People can pay off their mortgages, get out of debt or actually buy a car. Why not have have 1 less million dollar prize and and give out 7-10 $100-250K prizes? I'm a much bigger fan of giving more people better odds at winning a significant life changing prize, rather than showering just a few with a lot. People who win a HUGE sum are more likely to take their winnings and spend it out of state.
Same way with the lotto games....once the lotto or the mega get over a large amount...say $50 million...take the overage and divide it among the second prize winners. Wouldn't it better to make 40 winners of $250K than to lavish an extra $10 million on the guy who just won $50 million?

Of all the 'gimmicks' that the lottery has tried, never has anything like that been tried.

    At any Ohio Lottery retailer.

I agree... after the payouts, there is $5 million left. Could have taken that and had four prizes of $250k and still had $4 million left. Oh well. I will play and I will lose, again!

I got 2 last year and will be getting 2 this year as well.

I've got 2. They've sold just about half in nearly 2 months and have to sell the other half in less than a week? What will they do if they don't all sell?
  • Emmett Brown
I assume if they don't sell all of them, that our odds have just become a hell of a lot better. So If they only sell 250,000 then our odds are 1 in 62,500 of a million dollars. When is the last day to buy a ticket? January second

I was filling in at a convenience store for a little extra money and they were at 233,000 or so on Chirstmas Eve. Since they were at 246,000 on Christmas according to Peake, you get a better idea of the pace they're going at.
  • Chesapeake
They really start selling after Christmas.

It started on November 20th and they've sold a little over half of them so far.

Between December 26th and January 2nd they'll sell around 200,000 more.

The 2 day extension and prize changes didn't help much.

Will still be 50,000 unsold as usual.

I picked one up last night around 7:45 and my number was almost 262,000.
