ever replace a laptop screen?

  • Go_Fast_Sports
I've been fixing computers for people and recently came across a new one... a laptop screen that is internally broke. Surprise, it's an HP G60, 16" screen.

Anyone ever replaced one themselves? if so, where did you go to get the part(s)?

I did find a tutorial on how to do it, and also the full manual.

Is the panel broke or is it like the connection or something?

how about the keyboard, some of my keys are sticking. Not what you think - i'll quote one of you guys ahead of time - "is it the letters P -O - R - N." the answer is no. LOL

I would be impressed if you were accurate enough with your shot to only get those letters to stick.

Keyboards are really easy to replace. Just a couple screws and it pops in and out of place. I had to replace mine after spilling beer on(luckily it didn't get "in" the computer, just the keyboard). I looked on Dell's website for the part number and name; then went to ebay and got it for 10 bucks. I just did a search on how to replace it and it was very simple.

I'm interested in finding this out as well. I have an HP G50 and every once in awhile, the screen with go gray or blank and I have to adjust the screen to get it back. It's been happening more and more frequently lately...and I have a feeling it's going to crap out soon.
