Hish school sports question

  • Mr. 300
If your school does not offer a certain sport, and an adjacent school does, will the OHSAA allow you to compete on the other school's team??
  • se-alum
Dunno, never had that problem in Hish school.
  • The Equalizer
I would be amazed if that were true.

you must be enrolled. I say that because there was a family at my high school of 5 kids. 4 went to my high school and the 5th went to Marietta because MHS had wrestling, Fort Frye doesn't. not a problem assuming there is an open enrollment plan in place.

No you can not...but if your school will allow it you can compete on your own under the school's name while practicing with another school.

Several years ago before Cardington had wrestling, Tom Smith wrestled for Cardington but practiced with nearby schools like River Valley every day. He eventually won a state title while being the only member of his school's "Team". His dad coached him and as far as I know his family paid for all of the entry fees as well.
