Can McDaniels Save McKinley Football?

  There have been 24 national championships won by Ohio teams. Big Red has zero. They just aren't at the level of the elite Ohio teams.

  A national championship in HS football is nothing but politics. Always has been . You might have 20 or 30 teams better than the actual national champion. Steubenville high school had the best team in the entire USA in 1930 and were amoung the very best several other times. Steubenville was respected nationally several times. Steubenville has wins versus major national powers many times. Your just foolish with these statements. You have to live near a major media outlet to get the exposure on a national standpoint with HS football. Our major outlets are Wheeling and Pittsburgh. The Wheeling sports writers have placed Brooke high WVA in the national top 20 a few times over the mighty Big Red of Steubenville. Look on our web site to see how that team has fared against the Mighty Mighty Big Red . Steubenville has also beaten several WPIAL teams that have been nationally ranked at one time or another . Steubenville gets no love from the Pittsburgh or Wheeling media . Those guys are the ones who vote on these polls. Big Red was nationally ranked in 05 and 06 most recently but not through the newspaper media writers. I am happy with the Mighty Steubenville program as you should be with the Ursulin program, or Washington high program whichever. LOL I take nothing away from Washington high school . They are our public school brethren and we are only enemies when we face each other on the grid,as far as I am concerned. Why don't you brag about that cesspool of a town in Mahoning county which you actually reside. Have you sold all the way out?:huh:

  Being nationally ranked is not the same as being national champions. We have almost twice as many national championships as times that you have beaten us.

I am glad WHS has many national titles . I hope they don't lose it to Iggy or Moeller or X. Public school power!! We have to stick together.
  McDaniels back at Mckinley gives the Bulldogs a shot at an Ohio title and a national title and that is a good thing . I will be pulling for the Dogs all season and the next.

  McDaniels back at Mckinley gives the Bulldogs a shot at an Ohio title and a national title and that is a good thing . I will be pulling for the Dogs all season and the next.

  Brooke HS and WHS are our rivals right now. Wheeling Park is a good team now so they are as well.When we play East Liverpool,Dover or Indian creek ,those games are rival games. Granted nobody in the USA has a better rivalry than McKinley vs Washington. I will concede that. I actually have gone to that game a few times. It is the equal to Ohio state vs Michigan but on the HS level. Look out for them Dawgs in the next few years. They are going to vie for the D-1 title very soon.

  I, and many people in our league, root for our bitter rivals in the non conference and then in the playoffs. Just makes the conference look that much better.

  I freely admit that we have not won any national championships in that time period. I don't make up excuses for it, we just didn't win. You keep trying to make up excuses why no one in your conference has ever won a national championship. Then you try to rationalize it by saying "those teams did have 2 NFL players and a couple other D1 players on that squad." If you want to compare teams by the number of D1 players, your programs still cannot compete with ours. We have several D1 players. We will cut more D1 players from our combine than any of your schools will produce.
