Notre Dame Getting Full-On Mod Protection Now

  As the CFB season unfolds and ND continues to surprise the entire nation by somehow remaining undefeated (well actually they would have lost last weekend without Divine Intervention from the officials) the OC Mods are putting on the full-court press to insure nobody pokes fun at the Potato Eaters.
  
  Once again I have been "removed from the discussion" for describing an absolutely knee slapper hilarious depiction of what took place at the Vatican last Sat night. These aren't Special Needs kids here getting the treatment, they are big tough CFB players led by an accused murderer who are overachieving beyond comprehension at the moment. Come on Mods they aren't that big of pussies they need you to protect them from the Big Bad Message Board Bullies...waaaah, sob, sob,waaah.

  Agreed, and we originally tried that approach and saw the results. The sports forums became a steaming pile of shit and even someone like CoA (I believe) offered up solutions to help to alleviate the detrimental effect the all is fair game policy that we used to operate under.   Debatable. But I think you would agree that not offering up any substance isn't the real issue. It's his repeated attacks on a certain school/fanbase that are only intended to rile them up and not actually offer anything. You just chose to pick out one aspect.
  
  It's fine to have worthless posts every once in a while. As you astutely pointed out, there is a lot of meaningless crap here adding nothing (but also generally not causing a huge distraction or trying to piss people off). It's fine to be critical of a team. There are plenty of critical posts regarding all the schools represented here that are made in such a way that aren't trying to aggressively troll a school/fan base. But there are a few people who repeatedly make posts with only the intentions of trying to rile up people adding nothing, often just rehashing the same old tired lines.
  
  And what we have seen in the past is that when one poster really starts to lay into a team/school (A), posters of that team/school tend to retaliate against the "trolling" poster's team/school (B). Then you get B posters attacking A posters and a never ending cycle. Intelligent conversation or respectful disagreements fall by the wayside and it turns to a steaming pile of shit again.
  
  As I agreed with queencitybuckeye, it would be easier if people just ignored these. But we tried that approach and found that too many people just kept taking the bait and we ended up with a disaster.

  The funny thing is he didn't receive an infraction. He was only thread banned (can't post on that particular thread anymore). Hardly a terrible fate as he obviously detests the school (Why would he want to spend time on a thread of a school he hates anyways?).
