Splitting The Championship
-
sportchamppsSo I'm in the championship in a league this week and my oppenent offered to just split the prize money. He is actually favored by 10 in the projections. How do you feel about splitting the pot.

IliketurtlesIf you both agree on it then that is your choice. I don't think it should matter to anyone else in the league either. If they have a problem with it then maybe they should have made it to the finals.
As for me it's not something I would ever do just because no matter the projections I'm always going to think my team is better and will win and I am a huge gambler. -

My thoughts exactly, especially the gambler part, lol. I just made a side bet with the person who missed the championship game against me in one league because I told him he'd lose, haha.Iliketurtles;1554545 wrote:If you both agree on it then that is your choice. ZombaypirateA little bit of something is a whole lot more than nothing.

Lol nice! Yeah I'm playing in the championship game in my main league. The guy I am playing against really doesn't have a lot of money or else I would try and do a side bet with him. He and I spent all summer talking about fantasy stuff tho then after our draft he said that he would see me in the championship... pretty crazy it actually happened.Terry_Tate;1554554 wrote:My thoughts exactly, especially the gambler part, lol. sportschampps how much money are you talking about splitting? -
queencitybuckeyeTo me, winning these things is supposed to be an exercise in making football-related decisions, not in gaming the system.
-
slingshot4everWhat are the pots for 1st and 2nd place? Is there a big difference?
-
Raw Dawgin' itFuck splitting it.

lhslep134In a league where 1st gets $700 and 2nd $200
Right now I'm favored by 15. I think I would do $600 $300 though. Buy in was $100 so I know I'm at least making $100 so I don't have much incentive to split
15 seems like a lot to be favored by in the finals right, or am I going nuts? -

I'm favored by 30 in one and 16 in the other, but I know it doesn't mean anything really.lhslep134;1554729 wrote:In a league where 1st gets $700 and 2nd $200

By 30? That sounds like a ton, is your team that good or his that bad?Terry_Tate;1554732 wrote:I'm favored by 30 in one and 16 in the other, but I know it doesn't mean anything really. -

My team (2 QBs can start):lhslep134;1554740 wrote:By 30? That sounds like a ton, is your team that good or his that bad?
Tony Romo
Jay Cutler (started Jason Campbell or Carson when he was injured)
Jamaal Charles
Chris Johnson
Brandon Marshall
Josh Gordon
Jordan Cameron
Cardinals D/ST
Adam Vinatieri
His team:
Nick Foles
Adrian Peterson
Knowshon Moreno
Calvin Johnson
Torrey Smith
Riley Cooper
Vernon Davis
Bengals D/ST
Phil Dawson
I'm #1 in scoring for the year and he's #2. Probably my best draft this year.
EDIT: He just picked up Kirk Cousins to replace Riley Cooper I'm guessing, which takes it down to an 18 point favorite for me. -

I'm favored by 20 but projections are meaningless.Terry_Tate;1554732 wrote:I'm favored by 30 in one and 16 in the other, but I know it doesn't mean anything really. -
SportsAndLadyI posted this in the other thread but I split the pot this year, and I was a heavy favorite.
Peyton
B marsh
Josh Gordon
Antonio brown
Lacy
Shady McCoy
Vernon Davis
$575 to the winner of this game, $225 to the loser.
He offered me to split where I get $480 and he gets $320.
I took it. -

Definitely better for you, but if I were him I would've rolled the dice.SportsAndLady;1554779 wrote:I posted this in the other thread but I split the pot this year, and I was a heavy favorite.

Yep. They really don't mean shit. I look at them but don't put any of my hopes into them whether I'm projected to win or lose.Raw Dawgin' it;1554771 wrote:I'm favored by 20 but projections are meaningless. -
sportchamppsPayouts in ours are 600 300 so a split would be 450 each. I took the split.
