Would You Make This Trade (thread)...
-
Laley23Figured Id get this one started.
Would you make this trade?
Team A Gets:
Andrew Luck
Reggie Wayne
Team B Gets:
Russell Wilson
Andre Johnson
Team A has Roddy White, Eric Decker and A. Johnson (FLEX) as starters and Heyward-Bey, Stevie Johnson, Blackmon and Broyles on the bench.
Team B has Julio Jones, Reggie Wayne and Daryl Richardson (FLEX) as starters and Thompkins, Michael Floyd and Greg Little on the bench.
Neither team has a back-up QB. -
RotinajWell AJ and RW are rated higher on espn's rankings FWIW but I think Team A gets the better and more reliable fantasy players. I think the odds are much higher that AJ and or RW will miss time this season.
-
Laley23Should also note it is full point PPR.
-
RotinajAlso AJ and RW play for teams that run first and love running in the red zone. Luck is going to be throwing the ball 40 times a game and has no RB.
-
Terry_TateI am a huge Andrew Luck homer so I would do the trade to get Luck. Andre Johnson concerns me injury wise as well. Not a no brainer but I expect Luck to possibly be a top 5 fantasy qb this year. You'd be getting Luck and Wayne I'm guessing?
-
IliketurtlesI'd definitely do it mostly because I love pairing QB's with their top WR. Plus I'm not a huge fan of Wilson but I do think that AJ will have a top 5 year.
-
Laley23
Yes, I would be. I was checking because of ESPN rankings having Wilson and AJ significantly higher than Wayne and Luck. I dont see it.Terry_Tate;1491548 wrote:I am a huge Andrew Luck homer so I would do the trade to get Luck. Andre Johnson concerns me injury wise as well. Personally, I dont know why Luck isnt WAY higher. He has 3 legit targets and 2 solid TEs to throw the ball to. Not much of a running game and can scramble for 20+ yards a game as well. He should throw the ball a TON and I would bet that 80% of Indys TDs are his passing or his rushing. I bet they score less than 10 Rushing TDs outside of Luck. Bradshaw just doesnt have it anymore, imo.
I think Pep Hamilton as OC and losing Arians is the reason Luck is low. Pep is a WCO check down guy. But, Luck is a bonifide star and can call his own plays and will still go downfield plenty. With Heyward-Bey as the #2 option out wide it allows Hilton to stay in the slot. I dunno, I just dont see Luck having less than 30PTDs this year.
Im still open to not making the deal, but you guys are reassuring my lean of yes. -
Iliketurtles
I think its mostly due to rushing yards and rushing TDs. I'm not fan of Kaep/Wilson/RG3 over guys like Luck/Romo/Stafford. Plus what is better than having the 2 best players from your favorite team on your fantasy team?Laley23;1491558 wrote:Yes, I would be. I do agree with how high they have AJ over Wayne especially if AJ is staying healthy. -
Terry_TateWe're on the same page. I was shocked to see luck only had 23 passing TDs last year as I think he'll get 32-35 this year. If any qb will join Manning, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers it will be him imo. I like RW but see him as more of a 9-12 QB and Luck as top 6. Luck was the #9 fantasy qb in my league and he will be a lot better this year so don't get why he's so low.
-
Laley23Guy who I am texting about it right now is on the same page also. But he is so thin at WR he needs a true #1 (and even though Wayne is the #1, Luck will spread it around). H
e said via text he is banking on the Texans throwing more this year with Arians health, which could happen. I see AJ having a monster year. But I also see RW falling back to around 10 with Luck being close to top 5.
Overall, I think its a even trade. But with my WR depth, I think I can afford losing AJ and a monster year because Wayne will still be ok and I have a bench where 1 of them could be huge (thinking Blackmon after the suspension) and be a HUGE steal in the FLEX. -
Iliketurtles
Yeah I agree I think Lucks TDs will be around 30. Luck was 10th in my league but that's just where he finished on yards thrown. He was 14th for points but those don't matter as much.Terry_Tate;1491571 wrote:We're on the same page. I like Ryan and Romo more than Luck to join those 4 guys in the top 5 though.
If he wants a WR I definitely think he would be getting an upgrade for Johnson over Wayne.Laley23;1491574 wrote:Guy who I am texting about it right now is on the same page also. But he is so thin at WR he needs a true #1 (and even though Wayne is the #1, Luck will spread it around). H

I agree with you about Blackmon he is going to be good when he comes back. Same thing with Gordon who is falling in drafts just because he will miss 2 games. -

Terry_TateRomo? Don't interceptions count as negative points in your league?
-
Laley23
He is for sure getting an upgrade, but Im not sure it is a HUGE upgrade because of how little AJ sees the endzone and at age 32 he could easily have a major injury with the way he plays. I think he gets the better WR out of the deal (which as I stated, I can afford) and I think I get the better QB out of the deal.Iliketurtles;1491582 wrote: If he wants a WR I definitely think he would be getting an upgrade for Johnson over Wayne.

Yeah, I snagged Gordon in my other league pretty late. -
Iliketurtles
haha funny. And yes they do -3 in fact. But my league is so different than any other league I dont care too much if my QB is throwing INTs I care more about the yards they throw for.Terry_Tate;1491596 wrote:Romo? Don't interceptions count as negative points in your league?
But I don't see Romo throwing for a ton of INTs this year and it wouldn't surprise me if he got 35-40 TDs this year. -
Terry_TateWait, you're a Cowboys fan right? Now it makes sense. And Romo is fine, I actually like him more than most people do, I just don't see any way he is ever above #7.
Actually just saw he threw for 4,900 yards last year and had no idea it was that many. If he gets to 35 TDs then he'd be top 5, but I just don't see it happening even though their running game is pretty weak. -
Iliketurtles
Haha yeah I am. But its only playing a little part in my reasons for thinking he will be top 5. I just think they will be throwing even more this year plus Dez is just going to be a beast if he can hopefully stay healthy.Terry_Tate;1491614 wrote:Wait, you're a Cowboys fan right? Dez is going to be a monster, I agree. Thought he had top 5 potential when he came out and he has certainly shown it. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the 2nd fantasy WR this year.Iliketurtles;1491620 wrote:Haha yeah I am. But its only playing a little part in my reasons for thinking he will be top 5. lhslep134I would definitely do the trade, but that's because I have Luck in a tier above Wilson and Wayne and AJ in the same tier.

I was thinking the same thing haha. Where did you get this at bases and is it free?Laley23;1491928 wrote:I dont know what the fuck you just used to get that, but I like it lol. -

I use fantasyguru.com and have for a few years. I think it costs me about $20 a year because I always buy the bundle package. But it's great for articles and your lineups and projections. One of many tools is their trade analyzer. I use it as a commissioner in my league more than anything. It can be used based on my leagues scoring or a few generic scoring systems. -
Laley23Yahoo! has something similar. But I dont usually agree with their projections.
I usually make a trade based on history and gut feeling. So projections arent really anything I factor into my trades, but I still like that funtion. Thanks for the input.
