Waiver Wire

Well, I'm boned. Fred Jackson went down meaning I lost a starter in both of my leagues. Thankfully I have some RB depth in one of my leagues (will replace Jackson with Kevin Smith/Donald Brown/Rashad Jennings) but in my other league, I got nothing. Relegated to starting Jacquizz Rodgers or Peyton Hillis as my RB2 (I also have Leshoure but he's still suspended).

That said, I don't think there's anything on the wire this week worthy of picking up at RB. I put in a claim on Alfred Morris, but he will surely be Shanahan'd and sat for the next 12 weeks after his week one performance. Any other RB's worth putting a claim on?

In my other league (with one with Smith/Brown/Jennings) I put in claims on Ogletree, Stephen Hill and Alshon Jeffery and will get one of them, so I'm pretty happy there. Who else is catching your eye on the waiver wire after week 1?

I put in claims for Morris an Stephen Smith. Probably wont get either.

I have a claim in on Morris - hoping Shannahan Syndrome doesn't kick in, cuz I need someone to put in the flex and he would be tasty.

That said, I'm in a league where the commish posed a rule change and it passed simply based on my behavior in the past season. I made 30 waiver-wire pick ups... now, that sounds like a lot, but I had a lot of injuries and depth issues, and most of the time I was just trying to get a good match-up or go on a hunch. So the new rule is you can only do 15... which I think is retarded. He got upset I made so many moves... I think he's just a hater cuz his team blows and one of my free-agent claims was DeMarco, and yes this is a Keeper League... so fuck him.

That's a ridiculous rule. We charge people $1 per waiver transaction/player add (not for trades) but limits on the number of moves you can make are stupid.

Stupid rule, we just charge $$ per WW move. Your first is free and any time you drop someone that is on IR its free, but every one after that costs money. So, if you want to make 30 moves, feel free just adds to the end of the year's pot ;).

lol at limiting Waiver Wire transactions. Might be the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Actually got hill in 2 leagues and Morris in 1. Pretty surprised.

I was able to pick up Jacob Tamme! I wanted to target Fleener as a sleeper, and not waste a pick on a TE early. But he got taken a round before I thought he would and I had to settle on Greg Olsen.

Tamme had been drafted, and dropped before the season. I kept Olsen because he had 7 targets from Newton, but I dont have high hopes for him (or Tamme really). But at least I have 2 guys who can possibly be servicable this year. Just hope one shows it early so I dont have to sit on them all year.

I picked up Kevin Ogletree but that was it mostly everyone else who had good weeks this past week were already drafted.
  • Raw Dawgin' it
Picked up Jeffrey, Moss, and Cincy Def. Morris was picked up before me. I tried to get Tamme but he was drafted in my league.

Only one worth a crap on the WW was Ogletree, everyone else was drafted (18 round 10 team league, so not a lot on WW).

Ogletree didn't even get picked up in our league, since our league charges for WW transactions (except IR ones) everyone is careful about using WW moves. I guarantee if he has another decent week this week there will be a 'run' to get him and the current worst team in the league will get him (our WW priority goes from worst to first, similar to the NFL draft).

Someone in one of my leagues just dropped Garcon to pick up Ramses Barden (?!). I know Garcon has been injured, but is there any reason why I shouldn't drop Ogletree and put in a claim on Garcon? Seems like a no-brainer and I'm shocked to see that he was dropped.

Yes do it. Once garçon comes back he will get a lot of catches and he has big play potential.

I was surprised no one had the cardinals d. I scooped them up and dropped Houston's d.

Lol? Houston's D is solid I don't think I'd drop them for the Cardinals but I will agree with you that its crazy the Card's D was still available.

gorocks that is a no brainer to pick up Garcon.

I wasn't a believer of the cards d until the really shut down Brady. I also like the fact they have Peterson returning punts and he's always a threat to take it for a td.

ARI has been good, but HOU def is a better defense. That wasn't a good idea.

This dude in one of my leagues dropped Reggie wayne and i just claimed him. LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Houston actually hasn't been getting much points. They have been solid but I'm looking at a d that doesn't give up many points and scores in the special teams and d. Arizona kind of fit that better for me

At this time Arizona is the better D. Houston playing in the worst division in sports probably makes them better long term though.

Don't know the specifics of his league, but sometimes it has to be done. In my money league, we only have 3 bench players, so most teams carry a QB,WR, and RB, if you have a couple starters with bye's, it may be necessary to drop a good player to fill your roster for the week.

Dropping Houston D really sucked for this week.

What about Hartline? I think he will continue what he has done so far with a rookie qb.

One week great then one week terrible. He is getting plenty of targets in even his bad games but Tann just misses him.

I would rather have his up and down then Randy Moss so I put in for that move this week.

I will be last on the pecking order so if anyone else puts in for him I won't get him.

Out league's WW order is from last to first and I have the best record and most points.
