Draft Advice: 14 Team League
-
RotinajLargest I've been in is 12 and that was once like 3 years ago. Anyone have any good tips for leagues this big? No idea where I'm drafting yet. I'm thinking in leagues this big it's more important to get good rbs/wrs instead of targeting a qb earlier because lack of depth that will be at those positions? Thanks in advance!

slingshot4everI'm in a 14 team league and drew the 7th pick. I'm targeting Megatron, 2 RB, then Matt Ryan in the 4th round. 2nd WR in the 5th round.

Crimson streakCutler would be solid. He finally has some receivers to throw to and Marshall looks motivated

gorocks99WRs are actually pretty deep, anyone in the top 25 could have a big day and anyone in the top 15 should be very reliable. I'd focus on getting your RBs in order and if you can get one of the elite QBs, do it. I was in a 14-team league last year and finished with the best record having Rodgers, Forte and Nelson as my #1 QB, RB and WR.

se-alumHow many players do you need to draft?

khujoI play in a 14 team league every year and it will be a shock to you how quickly the quality goes. By the 4th or 5th round just about any RB you would take without cringing, knowing you are going to be starting them, is gone. I would seriously consider taking RBs in rounds 1, 2 and 3.
By the end of the draft most back up RBs are taken also, so if one of your starters gets hurt, there is basically nothing left to pick up in free agency. -
namod65Definitely go with RBs first. That position is weak this year so you will be screwed if you have no depth there. Unless you can get Rodgers, Brady, or Brees, wait on a QB until you have 2 solid RBs and a WR. There is plenty of depth at QB and the scoring difference between QBs this year will not be nearly as high as it will be at running back. Even if you get a top pick, take two RBs first. You will be much safer and better off with say Rice and Stephen Jackson, compared to someone who takes Rodgers and then Jamaal Charles or someone. You will be able to find a QB later who can minimize his advantage with Rodgers and then just kill him at RB because he has one average starting RB and then a bunch of shitty ones. Having two extremely solid RBs will be a huge advantage, especially in a 14 team league, since there are barely 14 RBs in the league worthy of being a RB1 on a team.
