Manager wants Fitzgerald for Nicks... Do I accept?
-
thePITmanI lose: Larry Fitzgerald
I get: Hakeem Nicks
Season stats through 5 games:
Larry Fitzgerald: 27 rec, 427 yds (85.4 ypg, 15.8 ypc), 2 TD, 19 1stD
Hakeem Nicks: 28 rec, 412 yds (82.4 ypg, 14.7 ypc), 3 TD, 18 1stD
Before the season started, I traded away Matt Forte for Larry Fitzgerald (I have LeSean McCoy, MJD, and Ryan Matthews at RB).
Fitzgerald is on a bye this week. Nicks is not. The next few opponents for the two WR's are as follows:
Fitz: [Bye], Pit, Bal, StL, Phi, SF, StL, Dal, SF
Nicks: Buf, [Bye], Mia, NE, SF, Phi, NO, GB
What would you do? Why is this guy proposing this trade? Doe she know something about Nicks that I do not? Maybe there are injury concerns, but he has still produced. Fitzgerald has produced despite the rest of the offense being pretty bad. -
Laley23I wouldnt do it. Nicks is a stud. But he is putting up the same stats while having a solid season. Fitz will continue to match, but he has the chance to really take off if he and Kolb get in a rhythm together. Think Matt Cassel and Dwayne Bowe last season...

Do it. Look at their schedules. Then look at who is taking coverage from them.
Nicks: Cruz, manningham, boss
Fitzgerald: breaston, the kid from glee.
Let's not forget that Nicks has a superbowl MVP throwing him passes. Fitzgerald has a backup who was replaced by vince young. -
DeyDurkie5Tough call. Nicks seems to be getting the victor cruz treatment for now, while fitzgerald seems to be getting the cardinals suck ass treatment. I'd do it just cuase eli is better than kolb

thePITmanESPN has Nicks 2 spots above Fitzgerald.

And I wouldn't do it. -

List is from sept and worthless now. Also Welker would/should be ranked #1 at this point in the season.thePITman;931106 wrote:ESPN has Nicks 2 spots above Fitzgerald.

I agree with you, there. Didn't even notice that. Was just looking for Fitz and Nicks.bases_loaded;931111 wrote:Lol any WR list without CJ at top is worthless -

Heard of Calvin Johnson?Commander of Awesome;931128 wrote:List is from sept and worthless now. Also Welker would/should be ranked #1 at this point in the season. -
gorocks99Welker has 740 yards and 5 TDs
Megatron has 451 yards and 9 TDs
I think Welker has a strong case as the #1 fantasy receiver, even despite CJ's enormous touchdown total. -

Is Boss even playing? I know that former Buckeye Jake Ballard is having a very nice year for the Giants.j_crazy;930887 wrote:Do it. Look at their schedules. Then look at who is taking coverage from them.

I thought Boss was in Seattle -
j_crazyEither way. More options for defenses to cover in ny

Owned. I guess I was thinking in terms of #1 WR in reality. Not so much fantasy. Would be surprised if CJ caught up with Welker in yards, and kept the same TD pace (in regards to ahead of Welker) though.gorocks99;931257 wrote:Welker has 740 yards and 5 TDs

You do know that neither Boss nor Breaston are on the teams you listed? That's 50% of the players you listed. Kinda hard to put any credibility in that post. Just sayin.j_crazy;930887 wrote:Do it. Look at their schedules. Then look at who is taking coverage from them.

Whatever. If breaston isn't in zona then that helps my point. If I can't name the guy opposite of Fitzgerald, then he's not good enough to take any coverage away.
Plus on QB alone its worth doing. Factor in the schedule, its a slam dunk. -

Or it means you don't really pay attention that much? BTW the guy opposite of Fitzgerald is Early Doucet and hes having a pretty decent year.j_crazy;932853 wrote:Whatever. I will agree with you about the QB and schedule though. But I think Kolb is going to turn it around and he and Fitz will be great. With Cruz emerging you gotta worry about him taking targets away from Nicks. -

So you're saying your ignorance = lack of talent? That's absurd. Doucet is good.j_crazy;932853 wrote:If I can't name the guy opposite of Fitzgerald, then he's not good enough to take any coverage away. -

Yeah but you never saw that with smith. At least I don't remember it.
