SportsAndLadyI picked 7th out of 12.
Standard scoring league.
QB Philip Rivers
RB Steven Jackson
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Brandon Lloyd
TE Jermichael Finley
RB Jonathon Stewart
RB James Starks
WR Greg Little
Baltimore DEF
K Nate Kaeding
I was 1 of 2 people who weren't live at this draft, so it kinda sucked not being there. I also thought it was 12 rounds so after I picked Kaeding I just left the draft thinking it was over when really it was 15 rounds long lol they autodrafted 2 fuckin Bengals for me, awesome. Gonna cut them soon as the league is up.
The first 6 picks completely threw me off, I had no idea what to do after these were the first 6 taken?
1-Vick
2-AP
3-Foster
4-CJ
5-Aaron Rodgers
6-Tom Brady
Too many QBs, I was totally expecting to get Brady, Vick, or Rodgers at 7, I didn't even think about the possibilities of them going already....should I have taken someone else with my first pick? -
iclfan2I am in total shock that Vick was picked 1st overall. IMO 1st round is too early for a QB. Looks good, but a little weak at RB.
-
SportsAndLadyYeah definitely weak at RBs...thinking about making a trade for a good RB. I have a lot of good receivers
-
iclfan2I just had my draft today. Had pick 10 of 12, start 3 wr and 2 rb. I felt at the time I made good value picks but looking at my team overall I really don't like it as much.
QB- Josh Freeman, Fitzpatrick
RB- LeSean Mccoy, Shonn Greene, Moreno, and Tolbert
WR- Calvin Johnson, Mike Williams, Welker, Collie, Lance Moore
TE- Gronkowski, Moeaki
K- Gostkowski, Bryant
Def- Miami, TB -
derek bomarHad my draft today... 2 keeper league, picked 8th of 12...

THE4RINGZVick taken #1 overall? Sound like you should clean up against these mental midgets.
-
Laley23S&L, who DID you take with #7. Those first six are ridiculous, but it should have allowed you to snag #1 WR in Andre the Giant. Did you go Fitz instead?

I posted my picks in the order they were taken.
Fitz was there in the 3rd round lol took Rivers #7 -

Not a big fan of your team here.
Too many options on Philly for McCoy to have that big of a year. Freeman I think will have a decent year but not starting QB on your fantasy team type year. -

Awesome team...loaded -
jpake110th pick in a 10 team league
QB: Rivers, Bradford
RB: Turner, Bradshaw, Mathews, Benson, Bush OAK
WR: Andre, Lloyd, M Thomas, Know, J Ford
TE: Clark, Keller
DEF: Bears
K: Hartley
I think I drafted very well for the last spot. If Lloyd can play even almost as good as last year I got a great value I think I can really challenge. -
bigdaddy2003Weak at RB? I thought Stephen Jackson was good and Stewart was alright? I think with having the team you have you will be alright. Those backs will be alright for you.

Well in that case awesome snag with Fitz. Kolb will be able to get him top 5 WR numbers imo. Wayne is also solid. Not as great as before, but he will still put up 100 yrds and a TD in 8/16 games. Not bad for a 4th rounder. Id say you kind of panicked with Rivers at 7. Understandable since QBs flew off the board, but thats pretty damn early to be taking Rivers. I wouldve held off and if he was taken before it came back around to you just roll the dice with a Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub etc in a much later round. -

Looks good, but i'm not exactly sure how to evaluate a 10 team league...every team looks real good lol -

Yeah, nothing really jumped out at me though with that 7th pick. That's pretty much why I chose Rivers. Knew he wasn't gonna be there on the wrap around in the 2nd round, but figured Jackson would be..and I really like him this year.
I really like James Starks this year too -
PupHere is mine. Drafted 5 in 12 team redraft
QB- Matty Ice, Eli Manning
RB- Adrian Peterson, Legarette Blount, Shonn Greene , Marion Barber and Micheal Bush
WR- Roddy White,Mike Williams (TB), Austin Collie, Mike Sims-Walker, Nate Burleson
TE- Brandon Pettigrew
K-Adam Vinatieri
Def- Saints
My draft was crazy. Never expected to see AD fall to 5. First three picks were 1) Aaron Rodgers 2) Vick 3) Tom Brady. I just loaded up on RB's for trade bait and took some late round fliers in decent situations to see if I strike gold -

You got lucky, but capitalized. Love your RBs, Ryan will be an upper QB this year with the addition of a second WR (finally). White will be just as good if not better, because of Jones. I think the second WR will help he and Tony Gonzo. Other WR are very shaky, but as you said, could be gold. Collie is a throw over the middle from retiring though.
Love the Pettigrew pick. I think he will be a monster this year. Of course, he is in the same boat as the whole DET offense, Stafford HAS to stay healthy. But I see 85 catches, 1000 yards, and 7 TDs out of him this year.
Vinatieri is Vinatieri. He is going to be good from 40 in, and the Colts will score. He isnt a great option as they wont kick him past 45 yards (and thats a stretch) and the Colts have weeks where they only put up TDs. But still a solid choice.
Nice depth, with Eli at QB and your RB depth is phenomenal. No clear #2 (if Blount has a sophomore slump he is not a clear #2), but I think Blount will be good. WR you only really have White, but the rest of them are about equal and not a whole lot of drop-off so you might be able to play match-ups.
Overall, a very solid team, imo. -
PupI like the base of my team. I wish i could have a solid WR2. I thought im digging to hard at Wr but hopefully i can manage a RB-WR trade to my avantage.

Oh Good God, you took P Rivers in the 1st round?
Especially with J. Charles, R. Rice, A. Johnson, etc all available?
The people in your draft that were picking 8-12 were extremely happy seeing the first 7 picks. -

Did I take last year's #1 QB (minus V Jax) with the 7th pick? Yes, yes I did. -
hangonsloopyI picked 7th in my draft also. I jumped all over Charles though.
1. Foster
2. AP
3. CJ
4. Rice
5. McCoy
6. Rodgers
Then I took Brady in the 2nd. I would've taken either Rice or Charles over rivers but that's just me. You team still looks solid. -
Iliketurtles
I think in that situation the only player I would consider taking instead of Rivers would be Charles(I think Charles will be the #1 FF RB this year). But honestly with QBs going off like that you'd have to think that people picking after him would take Rivers, Brees, Manning, and maybe even Romo before he'd pick in the 2nd round. I just can't believe someone took Vick #1 that is mind boggling. As for your team S&L is pretty solid unless Starks is healthy and can win the starting job your RBs are gonna be pretty weak your WRs should dominate and make up for it though.jmog;872406 wrote:Oh Good God, you took P Rivers in the 1st round?

Vick could very easily go #1 or 2 in my league, but that is because my league has a vastly different scoring system.Iliketurtles;873341 wrote:I think in that situation the only player I would consider taking instead of Rivers would be Charles(I think Charles will be the #1 FF RB this year). We setup the scoring so that the top players at each position will score roughly the same. A top tier RB will score around the same as a top tier QB, a top tier WR, and a top tier TE (yes, even TEs score well in our league).
In order to accomplish this each position has its own scoring "rules" for passing, receiving, and rushing yards.
The passing yards for QBs are pretty "typical" but rushing yards for QBs are about 1 pt for 5 yards, so Vick will be a top 5 pick for sure, and with a few keepers (we have a partial keeper league) he could easily go top 3.
We also have 2-4 TEs go in the first round of every draft to be quite honest, Gates/Clark/etc will score like a top 5 RB.
Typically our 10 team draft will see this in the first round.
1-2 QBs
3-4 RBs
1-2 WRs
2-4 TEs
not your typical 8-9 RB first round... -
