Just wanted to guage interest in creating a Mock GM league for this board. -

Mock GM challenges you to see how good you would do with an NBA team if you were in charge. Its 30 team fantasy basketball where one person takes over an NBA team and we play out the NBA Offseason. Or you can be an Agent and negotiate contracts for players and make sure GMs come correct during free agency.
The offseason has 3 parts
1. Pre-Draft - this is when users pick teams and can trade using the 2010-11 contracts. They can trade expring contracts and position themselves for the draft or free agency.
2. College Draft - Draft college players
3. Free agency - The league switches over to the 2011-2012 contracts and free agents can nolonger be traded. This is pretty much Ebay on crack. GMs submit contracts, Agents approve or disapprove them. GMs are given a timeframe to submit contracts before the Agent decides the best contract or the computer decides.
The game uses the rules of the CBA. The salary cap is the NBA $58M with a Salary cap threshold of $65M I believe.
GMs can trade future draft picks, can trade, waive/release players, renouce players during free agency, decide team options, qualifying offers, Agents can decide player options for players like Boris Diaw, Tim Duncan, etc...
It's a fun game and something to do as a community during the NBA Lockout. I saw this post (
