President lands in Afgh.
-
ptown_trojans_1President Obama made an unannounced trip to Afghanistan today. He spoke to the troops saying they are keeping America safe, earning a hard earned peace, have really hurt al Qaeda in Afgh. and Pakistan, and said thank you to them all. He also spoke with Karzai, and invited him to the WH in May. But, he pressed him to do more to stop corruption.
Surprisingly, and this did surprise me, it was his first trip to the area, showing that the domestic agenda has dominated his calendar. I do hope he makes more trips to the area, including one to Pakistan, if possible and one to India.

AppleMr Photo Op probably needed shots of AF-1 over Afghanistan. The whacko lefties have gotta be wondering who they voter for! Dude pulled a page right out of dimwit W's playbook!
-
homefieldI wish he would stay there and implement his "Change Policy" in their country and leave our country alone.

rmolin73You guys are a joke.

I Wear PantsBecause no president has ever visited troops abroad before...

Like the leftist whackos aren't having a coniption fit seeing our president on foreign soil getting all chummy with those the leftists consider occupiers...I Wear Pants wrote: Because no president has ever visited troops abroad before...
Now all of a sudden with BHO in charge it's cool to mingle with the military? Is the true purpose of the surprise Afghanistan visit to put Spring flowers in the rifle muzzles? Not hardly!
The only reason I see that he went to his war zone was because he sees his poll numbers dropping and he thinks he can come across to simpleton voters as being presidential... commander-in-chief.
What a (another) farce BHO has become.
Gotta give him kudos for trying though... he does have the bully pulpit.
This week he said he wants to give away 1/3 of our nuclear protection.
It's no wonder that he now needs to right himself with the military by honoring them with a visit where He is escalating war. -
rmolin73Seriously?

This might be the dumbest thing I've read on this site. Which is saying something because I've written some really stupid things here. -

Wow...I think you've covered all 4 corners of the globe with this post. I would love to see Obama end the charade over there. But criticizing him for visiting the troops?Apple wrote:

Secondly. Obama's poll numbers have actually stablized...or actually gone up recently.
And thirdly. Gave up a 1/3rd of our nuclear arsenal? So now we can only blow up the planet 3000 times over? I see what you did there. LOL. -

1. "criticizing him for visiting the troops?"... no, just predicting that the whacko leftists who support Him are not in favor of Him putting His boots on the same ground where He is escalating His war.Footwedge wrote: Wow...I think you've covered all 4 corners of the globe with this post. 2. Poll numbers? Maybe Gallup doesn't fit your model, but here is a little something something that shows the Gallup picture of a reality you may not have seen:

3. Yes, our Chosen One has begun the process of eliminating 1/3 of our nuclear protection. Article
As far as I am concerned, it's not about having the ability of being able to, as you say, "blow up the planet 3000 times over", it's about being able to sustain the American way of life. -
I Wear PantsHow is having 1000334238904832 nukes helping to sustain the American way of life?

The U.S. is reducing along with the Russians, to 1,550. That is still enough to maintain our deterrence on land, air and sea. There are no limits on missile defense or conventional global strike. The U.S. made out in the deal. We didn;t give anything away.
For the people critical, do you not want him to go there and support our troops? It sounds like a damned if he did, damned if he didn't. I figured it would get some support on here since his Afghan policy has wide Republican support. -
rmolin73It has Republican support but definately not on here.
-
fish82He should have made this trip 6 months ago, but other than that it's pretty silly to fault him for doing it.

Agreed. I'd say he should have gave the speech at West Point there.fish82 wrote: He should have made this trip 6 months ago, but other than that it's pretty silly to fault him for doing it. -

We're lowering our nuclear weapon levels by giving the weapons to the Iranians, so they in turn can launch them at strategic locations to wipe out Christian strongholds, so that we can then, more easily, become an Islamic state. That is Obama's goal. -
derek bomarsome of the posts on this thread make me SMH

JU-ICEI always laugh when they say the presidents make "surprise visits" to Iraq and Afghanistan as if we cannot figure out that announcing they are coming would pose a slight security risk.
-
I Wear PantsI like how the host of whatever news show is currently on is always like "now why are there such high levels of secrecy involving the president's visit?"
