Time to see how big the Dem's balls are.

If this gets rammed through against the public's will, November is going to be hell for the Democrats.

November is going to be hell for the Democrats.
It will anyway, whether they push this through or not. That realization is what has brought some of the more moderate Dems around to the idea of reconciliation because at least they will give their base something to get fired up about. They have lost independents and Republicans regardless of what they do at this point.

Wow, there's news, the liberals and conservatives disagree on health reform. Of course, Obama knew this all along. Now he feels he can go forward with reconciliation, saying that he tried to find common ground!

What a bunch of nonsense. What's wrong with simply disagreeing? Obama/Pelosi/Reid believe in massive government intervention into our everyday lives and the conservatives believe in individual liberty and limited government. That's fine. We don't have to agree or even compromise when there is no common ground that both sides can live with.

Let the Democrats now go forward and pass their bill. If the public doesn't like it, it can throw them out in November, and if the public does like it, keep them in and continue with the expansion of the federal government making more and more decisions on behalf of the citizenry.

This summit was never intended to find a resolution. It was merely an attempt to take some blame from the Dems and repair their public perception.

At this point all the Republicans have to do is sit back and watch the Dems destroy the party. It will not be a pretty November.

I saw this as a way for both sides to get a "Gotcha" moment on tape to be used in political ads come November....

    It didn't work.

There is no bipartisan from Obama, his definitely of bipartisan is "agree with what we want".

Clinton did a lot bipartisan, Reagon did a lot bipartisan, Bush 1 did a lot bipartisan, Bush 2 did a lot bipartisan until the last couple years.

Obama has done zero bipartisan, its like Carter all over again, and that didn't end too well for the country.

President Obama has worked his ass off trying to get a bi-partisan bill together....but neither side will budge

And for those of you accusing the Dems of saying "the only way for this to work is to use our ideas"..you can go right on ahead and accuse the Repubs of it too

Why should the republicans budge on a bill that moves us into the failed socialist health care arena? We all should be applauding them for not budging. For the love of God, stand up for what you believe in and for the liberty that this country stands for (or at least used to), and be proud for "obstructing" this disaster of a bill and rejecting socialism!

Even if the Senate enacts the nuclear option to ram through BHO's bill, the House vote is not a given, especially with how close the first vote was, the loss of votes, (through death and resignation), zero republicrat support and scared democrats actually listening to their constituents instead of party leaders.

BHO has said the reason the nation doesn't support the democrat bill is because the people don't know about/understand it and the democrats haven't explained it well enough.

In reality, the reason people don't support the democrat bill is PRECISELY because they DO know about it and they DO understand what a bad piece of legislation it truly is!

Exactly- that's why the Senate was working on this during wee hours of the night, Christmas eve, etc., because they knew the more people knew about it the more PO's they'd be.
