FootwedgeA true American who saw the light on the war fabricators, and then broke ranks calling the Iraq war what it truly was.
And yet, despite the overwhelming proof that what Murtha spoke to be the truth, the labels of "Tokyo Rose" resonated from the so called liberal media as well as the chickenhawks like Limbaugh, Cheney, Wolfowicz, Delay, and Scooter Libby...the masterminds behind the entire cherade.
Kudos to you, Mr. Murtha...and thank God there are Marines that see honesty, honor and integrity over keeping your head up the miltary's ass. Semper Fidelis.
RIP.....Your place in heaven is your just reward. -
fish82Maybe in heaven he'll finally get his fifty grand.
Condolences to his friends and family...but no tears from me. -
believerI appreciate Murtha's pro-life stance and his military service. But his mis-characterization of his own constituents, Abscam involvement, and his love for earmarks made him one of the slimier of the slime bags in Congress.
I feel for his family's loss but I can't say I'm sad to see his Congressional voice silenced.
If it's any consolation I'm sure he and Ted Kennedy are yucking it up in the afterlife. -
2quik4uRIP. I am glad his unnecessary spending has come to a end tho
-
WriterbuckeyeCondolences to his family -- but he was a scumbag on too many levels for me to shed any tears.
It is one thing to be a war critic...it is something else to publicly hang service people for heinous crimes before any evidence of wrongdoing was provided. His comments on Haditha were totally inappropriate. -
gibby081.Why is Ira war criticinthe title

Some of you people on here are disgusting

1. If you mean the thread title, I merely cut and pasted the title of the article. You'd need to ask the article's editor to get the true answer to this question I guess.
2. LOL! The man is famous because of his political career. Just as John Kennedy had a career in the military before politics, so too did Murtha. Seems like the logical forum to discuss his passing. -
gibby08The man is dead...
There is NO reason to bash him
It's disgusting -
WriterbuckeyeHe was a public figure.
He used his standing to do both good and bad things.
His life is fair game for commenting on how he conducted it. -
Gobuckeyes1Why can't some of you people (Christians, nonetheless) out there just show a little decency and respect to a lifelong Marine for over 30 years of service to our country.
Why?
How can you call a man a scumbag on the day of his passing. Have you no decency?
I disagree with a lot of people politically, and I don't like what a lot of our elected officials have done over the past few years. But I could never bring myself to call any one of them a "scumbag" while the family is in mourning. None of you would have the balls to walk up to a family member and say that right now, either. More internet tough guys at work.
There is a time and a place for critiquing a man's political views during his life. The day of his death is not that time.
RIP and Semper Fi, Mr, Murtha. -
gibby08^^^
Because he had a little D beside his name
Had this been say....John McCain, you would have only heard positives from these people -

1. Why do you people always throw the "Christian" card? You really think all conservatives are bible-thumping goofs, don't you?Gobuckeyes1 wrote: Why can't some of you people (Christians, nonetheless) out there just show a little decency and respect to a lifelong Marine for over 30 years of service to our country.

2. How about tomorrow? Can we call him a scumbag then? If not, whats the statute on it?
3. Here's a thought...if you don't want discussion/debate on something, post it in the general forum. -

If Johnny Mac passed tomorrow, he'd get the same treatment from me...condolences for friends/family, but little if any tears. He'd still be a wishy-washy, mealy-mouthed career politician with zero core principles...the only difference would be a lack of breathing.gibby08 wrote: ^^^

Murtha was a doosh...dead or alive. Sorry if that gets your panties in a twist. -
Al CaponeAnother crook out of Washington. Slowly getting there.

I didn't call him anything. As far as I'm concerned, the more of these old lifetime politicians that we can get rid of, the better off this country will be.gibby08 wrote: And that's an excuse to call the man a dousche bag on the day of his death??
