    ??

It's simple. Either those rules are followed or it won't be discussed on here.

If you look around the other sub-forums we have the most thoughtful and civil discussions on here.

If he doesn't sound like General Patton rallying the country, he loses tonight.

I'm going to go nuts if what I've heard is true, that he's going to mention that we've gone from losing 700,000 jobs/month since last January to a monthly job loss of an amount significantly less than that, yet the net losses are STILL piling up. That's like a college basketball coach saying well at halftime we were down to our opponent by 20, but at the end of the game we were down by 30, so we weren't as bad as we were in the first half! (without mentioning that the other team pulled their starters at halftime).

I don't think too many people are going to take his words very seriously. He said a lot of things during the campaign and did not follow through with them. The whole health care issue descended into bribes for fence sitting Senators, favoritism to political allies, and closed door deals. All producing nothing more than joke of a bill that only a party shill could support. This all happening while the federal debt skyrockets and unemployment contiues to rise.

To even begin to get people to take him seriously he would have to be somewhat repentent of his leadership the last year. Otherwise any change in direct he proposed for 2010 will appear to be nothing more than political posturing.

I agree. If he is going to say something like this people will call BS.

    Well, start your engines!

Mrs. Obama has just took her seat.

Question...Over under the number of times Nancy Pelosi looks like a fool sitting behind the President, ready to jump her botox ass as fast as she can out of the seat in applause when Obama says things like, "Americans need Healthcare?!?!"

CBS has posted McDonnell (new Virginia governor's) rebuttal:

Republicans now in DC, health care chaos, no jobs but bank bonuses to exec's. Lets see how he dodges these issues especially with those of us with no hope for the future.

Boy it's great to be an American.

Look on Geihtner's face was priceless! (Obama talking about how much the economy sucks!)
  • ou1980
Ok.....where's the rally cry? Yes, we know Mr. President.....

This sounds like 2008 all over again!

At 9:24, none of this has taken place yet. He's singing the party praises.

gotta walk the dog, did he just say their efforts created 2M jobs last year, and is on track to create 1.5M this year (I noticed no clapping on the latter)?
  • CenterBHSFan
I wish they would let the man talk, instead of applause after every five words.
  • CenterBHSFan
Well, he finally got a whole paragraph in talking about fiscal responsibility, nobody cheered.

Stephen Green (blogger) expresses my sentiments re Obama's claim of their efforts resulting in more money available:

"Millions of Americans had more to spend… except for the 17% who can’t find enough work."

Nancy didn't jump up when he mentioned off shore oil/gas....

Is Janet Napolitano looking fetching tonight or what?

I sure hope that all of the things that congress has unanimously clapped for actually gets done. I hope that they stop sitting on their hands like they've done thepast year and say, yes, these are things we all agree on, let's get this done.
  • ou1980
Buckeyes down 4 to Iowa in the 2nd half.....
  • CenterBHSFan
    Wait, back up a minute!

Did I understand him correctly when he portrayed himself to now be interested in off-shore drilling??
