I'm burying the hatchet with Evan Bayh, this guy has finally got it

  Not me. Time for new blood. He had his chance. Bayh did not have the balls to speak out before. Now that the election in Massechusetts has concluded and he sees Mike Pence lurking in his rear view mirror, he suddenly sees the light. This dude is just trying to save his political ass.

  Possibly, but being from a relatively conservative state his popularity is still high and he seems to make a connection with his base, which is better than probably 90% plus of representatives at either house right now. I'm a bit biased as I've seen a couple speeches by him and he was very effective, definitely in my top 5, after the late Chief Justice Rehnquist (great orator, very smart), Justice O'Connor, Justice Ginsburg (see a trend), and Ronald Reagan back in the 80's.

  Agreed, you can start with Pelosi, how that woman is 2 steps from the Presidency is beyond me. She is unelectable in nearly all jurisdictions, even the most liberal ones (Vermont, NYC, northern Illinois). And based on what I've read about her, she is nuts, I have no idea why the DEMs haven't done something about her.

  Agreed...but I'm willing to give Bayh at least a chance to prove he's sincere. He's by no means the worst of the bunch...I'm waiting to see if he actually backs this up with action. At least we know he'll be on best behavior until Pence takes him out.

  I have been a fan of Bayh's for a while now. Our political ideologies are almost identical. He is the only existing politician that I would actively campaign for if he ran for President.

  He's one of the few Democrats I could see myself supporting. I'm still P.O.'ed about him voting against Roberts, but I suppose that is political pressure.
