Final GOP debate of the year
-
majorsparkForeign policy. War with ISIS or ISIL if your Obama. First time I watched the JV debate. It was the total focus. With more than double the candidates on the stage hopefully its not difficult to watch. After this some need to fall away.
-
majorsparkMarco Rubio's grandpa smoked three cigars a day. Doesn't he know that smoking tobacco is not longer cool or PC.
-
majorsparkI never knew all horse thieves were democrats. Good to know.
-
AutomatikTrump make me fucking lolololol
-
Wolves of BabylonMarco Rubio is terrible. Basically throw away the constitution and spend unlimited money on military.
The way these guys are speaking, you would think we are being invaded by the Chitari army from the first Avengers movie.
I've never liked Cruz but tonight I think he sounds alright honestly.
Christie wants to start world war 3. What a fucking idiot.

AutomatikThis has been highly entertaining.
-
majorsparkI am waiting for one of these guys foaming at the mouth to kick ISIS ass (which must be done) to recognize they must ask Congress for a formal declaration of war against the Islamic State. The legislative branch has too be fully on board with this.
-
SportsAndLadyWatched for an hour and all they talked about was Isis. So I turned it.
These debates suck right now. No reason why they need 9 guys out there in the final debate
Ben Carson is the worst. I fucking hate him.
I like Cruz, I think I'll do more research on him. -
AutomatikOverall it was a mess. Carson seems like he's on Valium.

Christie does not want to start WW3 neither does Putin. The world is governed by the aggressive use of force. Turkey shot down a Russian plane that briefly entered their air space because the Russians are bombing ethnic Turks in Syria along the Turkish/Syrian border. It did not start WW3. Imagine the Russian response to a foreign air force bombing Russian separatists in the Ukraine along the Russian border. They would be shot down.Wolves of Babylon;1769688 wrote:Christie wants to start world war 3. What a fucking idiot.
I do not like these hypothetical questions. At this point the Russians are established there. Any no fly agreement would involve the Russians, the Turks, and the West. Its not going to happen. Nor would it do any good. ISIS controls the ground and war refugees are not going to feel safe by jets patrolling at 20,000 feet. Its asked to goad Republican candidates into appearing to be warmongers. Now there is a soundbite out there with Christie recklessly wanting to shoot down Russian planes. Mission accomplished. Will Hillary be asked the same? I have my doubts. -

How about the "so what you are saying you are ok with bombing thousands of children" question to Carson?majorspark;1769703 wrote:Christie does not want to start WW3 neither does Putin. The idiot here is you and your lack of any understanding of global politics. It doesn't take a genius to look at what has happened globally, specifically the Middle East, under the policies of the Obama administration... to realize that the world is a lot more dangerous place because of them.Wolves of Babylon;1769688 wrote:Marco Rubio is terrible. Marco Rubio is spot on, and he doesn't want to shred the Constitution, he only wants to extend the law we've been living under the past dozen + years without incident since 9/11. This very simply is NOT the time to roll back our surveillance capabilities, and that is primarily due to the inattention that was given the "JV team".
The thing that I found most disconcerting was Donald Trump's answer to the question of "What part of the nuclear triad needs the most attention?".... I don't think Trump had a clue what the question was about....that's pretty scary from a guy who wants to be president and has a chance of being elected. -
QuakerOatsI thought it was a pretty good debate overall, with some substantial exchanges of good information/ideas/positions.
As was stated on stage, any of the 9 would be vastly superior to the disastrous regime we have now. -

Agreed on many fronts. There are too many candidates to have an effective "debate".SportsAndLady;1769699 wrote:Watched for an hour and all they talked about was Isis. So I turned it.

Second, Ben Carson is the worst. No doubt.
Trump is about the only thing that makes these things worth watching because he just says what he thinks and its usually pretty funny. -

I can't see any of the current candidates beating Hillary in the general election at this point.Automatik;1769759 wrote:What's your plan of action after Hillary wins?
Romney is the GOP's last hope but he's been pretty adamant against joining the race. -
AutomatikThey should just eliminate Carson and Christie. Maybe Fiorina too. She's not terrible and I agree with her bitching about not getting much time. None of them have a shot in hell at the nomination anyway.

Agreed. there is no reason for anyone more than Trump (unfortunately), Cruz, Rubio, and Christie to be on stage. I didn't even watch because it is pointless listening to the people with no shot. I like what Cruz has to say the most, but he looks like a cheesy car salesman. I hope the ticket is him and Rubio as VP.SportsAndLady;1769699 wrote: These debates suck right now. I would bet pretty good money on Rubio being the nominee. I don't think Trump is going anywhere though. I could totally see him running as an independent and doing quite well.iclfan2;1769781 wrote:Agreed. there is no reason for anyone more than Trump (unfortunately), Cruz, Rubio, and Christie to be on stage. I would like to see Trump get the Republican nomination though, not because I want him anywhere near the Presidency, but mostly I want to see him on National TV debating Hillary Clinton. He's pure entertainment and because he doesn't care, he would pull out all stops and absolutely shred her. -
HitsRusI would be OK with Rubio or Cruz, but prefer Rubio because he Holds enough conservative values, but is also not afraid to move off of them slightly if it is necessary or for the good of the country. It takes a lot of fortitude not to go Xenophobic on immigration right now, and a lot of balls and good sense to realize and articulate that now is not the time to hamstring the NSA, FBI and Homeland Security. Cruz strikes me as a bit of an ideologue, and quite frankly, we've had enough of that over the past eight years.

Good points. I had been hoping for a Kasich/Rubio ticket for two reasons: 1 - even though Kasich may not be a great debater, he does govern and manage very well, and at the end of the day that is what matters most --- really dealing with tough issues and solving problems. Rubio would be helpful in that regard also. 2 - we absolutely have to win Ohio and Florida to have any chance whatsoever of winning the White House - period. These two would give us the best, and perhaps only chance of doing that. -

Who said I support Obama's policies? The one lacking understanding is you. I'm not sure how anyone with an above average IQ can really think Rubio and his neo con policies actually work. History and facts prove that intervention, policing the world, regime change and fear mongering does not work.HitsRus;1769726 wrote:The idiot here is you and your lack of any understanding of global politics. The facts are our intervention in the middle East since at least the 50's is the biggest reason we are in this mess. The facts are I'm more likely to be killed by my neighbor or a 20 something year old virgin who lives in his mom's basement. than I am by a terrorist.
But go ahead, spend another 4 trillion, kill another few thousand troops, give up your rights no big deal.
