So with that fact in mind your poll is completely wrong. See the problem with guys like you, you're not in the real world, there is a whole bunch of you agoraphobias and or SID personalities that are told what to think, want they want you to know and what you're to do. You never venture out beyond those criteria.

I'm going to even say that you have never fired a weapon in the last 8 years.
You can name a Shooting Range in your area.
You know very little about the differences between a automatic weapon and a semi-auto weapon..(you relate the two as the same).
I am not saying that you have to experience everything that you maybe for or against but this particular topic is something you can experience for yourself and get out to gain street, grass root knowledge.

I take Democrats (love doing this) that my wife and meet after a few for dinners, group events or church activities, we invite them out to dinner but we go to the Range first. Many times they refuse because it against their character or against guns. So we ask if they ever been to a range or experience that feeling of a weapon. I tell them Ok but here some ear and eye protection just stand inside the shooting Range and watch me or my wife. Within 10 minute they are standing with my instruction in front of a target 15 feet away. One shot, one target hit and one new adventure.
They will be back, asking if they can go back to the range with us and later they will be rethinking weapon ownership for protection.

Wife and I have a joke: It’s easy to convert a Democrat to a gun owner that a gun owner to a Democrat

gosh a ruddies, Mr. Belly, the site you cite uses a Gallup stat, when I go directly to the Gallup site for the true information, what do you say, "your poll is completely wrong."

Gosh a ruddies, not even close. only once does it reach the level it had in 1960, every other year consistently below it. And showing in the last three decades on average of a 20% decline what it was in 1960. The march of history leaves gun ownership in its dust.

LOL...only an idiot looks at that graph and comes to that conclusion. It's the same as 30 years ago.

You could make the case the long-run average is down from about 45% to 40%.

What's interesting is you have a steep fall-off about the same time as an observed steep drop in crime, which Freakanomics famously attributed to abortion. The takeaway - fewer thugs getting fewer guns, and fewer people needing guns to protect themselves from said thugs.

gosh a ruddies it is always nice to get a variety of opinions. It was nice of you to present the views of the delusional gun nuts and their acolytes. People who can look at that chart and not see the marked decline in gun ownership in recent history.

Was this a survey with that single question, or was it part of a larger, lifestyle type of survey?

If the former, I would choose not to participate. If the latter, I'd skip the question if allowed, lie if not.

Exactly. I probably have more firearms then everyone on this board, but if the question was asked in a poll like the one being shown, I would say no like thousands of people would and do. Gun ownership by law abiding citizens has never been higher then now and will continue to grow. I don't care what kind of poll charts the sheep wanna post. The sheep will never understand. Stay armed my friends.

Where in any of this website was GUNS mentioned?

Murder rate ..... so in your mind Murder = Guns
Murder cover a big range of potential: .... baseball bat, knife, chainsaw, car accident (alcohol), cement block, child abuse, starvation, iron skillet, hanging, pillow, drug over does, prescription drug, pitch fork, shove, spear, push out a window, antifreeze, carbon dioxides….. so Murder can be classified as any instrumentation used as a means of killing someone … Murder does not mean Guns…

Generation of Democrat run cities crime rate soaring…
    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/07/09/gun-crime-soaring-in-these-democrat-run-cities/

The bottom line, for now, is that these Democrat-run cities are violent. And their violence is of a sort that gun control can’t fix because control only affects law-abiding citizens. To respond to this kind of crime with laws that force law-abiding citizens to jump through more hoops to get guns is only to put law-abiding citizens in a place where defending themselves becomes more and more difficult.

gosh a ruddies of course I did. wow breitbart, what a reputation. You rave on and on about Chicago, Illinois and I provide the names of the two bloodiest states in the USA. both deep red states with a laissez faire view toward gun regulation.
