Where's Global Warming When We Need It?

Sadly we have 4 dead in the home town of our community organizer turned POTUS who's a global warming - I mean - climate change disciple.

Maybe if Obama had reacted a bit faster to this Katrina-style natural disaster, these poor souls might not have lost their lives. You would think BHO would have learned a valuable lesson from "W's" mistake. tisk tisk tisk

Oops wait...I forgot. This is Bush's fault. My bad.

I'm waiting for Daley to come out soon and declare Chicago a "white chocolate city".

I'm confident that when ObamaKare goes fully on-line in a few years, there are provisions in the 1,000 (+) page government health care bill to provide free shelter for the indigent and the homeless during the next cold climate change cycle.

The junk we put into the air can cause cooling too, blocking out some sun. I know you didn't really want to talk about it but just wanted to make a point of how stupid everyone who thinks differently is but it's worth noting.

I'd dig out my notes from my Ice Age class (yes, a semester course clearly makes me a reputable source) but I frankly don't care enough. That sucks about the people in Chicago though.

Query: Are you trying to say that it wasn't pathetic the way Katrina was handled at basically every level?

Do you get your opinions from anyone else other than Beck and Limbaugh?

Apparently we've belched too much junk in the air recently. We really do need to stop blocking out that sun. I suppose when the temp hits the high 90's this summer we can say too much junk in the air is locking in the sun? Just asking.

Nope. I only check-in with Uncles Limbaugh and Beck every time I post.

I see my attempt at sarcasm has the lefties' "collective" undies in a bunch. Hate when that happens.....LMAO

Are you so far removed from college life to remember that the students MUST regurgitate back the liberal bulllshit as pure fact in order to receive that A?

Fortunately with time and real-life experience most grads eventually realize they've been duped. It's the point in the life cycle where college vs. real-life collide that true education finally occurs.

It's just a matter of time.

Do you ever actually take part in a real discussion, without dismissing an opposing opinion as being from Beck and/or Limbaugh? Guess it's easier than actually trying to debate. I remember you doing so under a different screen name, and getting so owned, you ran away like the coward that you are.

Sulfur Dioxides are about the only combustion emissions that cause any cooling, but it is NOT by "blocking out the sun". Only dirt/dust can "block out sun" or things like a nuclear explosion sending debris that high into the atmosphere. Sulfur has been severely limited in fuels for years now, so the SO2 emissions have been reduced to nearly zero compared to what it used to be. So the SO2 cooling effect (reflecting solar radiation) would never "out do" the CO2 warming effects we are preached to about all the time.

The jet stream dipping south for more than 5 days in a row debunks global warming?

    Glad to know that.

I'm not saying it exists or doesn't, but my decision's going to be based off of a little more.

Tying Obama to that is just grasping for straws too.

First off, if you took a course on this you shouldnt need to pull out your notes, must not of got an A huh?

I thought I was being transparent enough, apparently not.

Here we go again....I WAS JOKING!

The bolded "clearly" was to emphasize my sarcasm.

Although I'll now answer seriously. My class was taught by what seemed like a moderate minded guy at probably the most conservative minded university in the state. He presented many arguments and plainly explained data.

Also, I assume you remember exact data figures from every Gen. Ed. class you took in college?

Are you really such a thick headed left winger that you can't detect the irony and sarcasm interlaced in my post?

By the way the snowstorm isn't what killed these people. But the cold global warming did.

You're better than that, Believer, idiotic "college vs. real-life" comments are below you. You can do better.

Or, you just went to a shitty school. My experience in both undergrad and grad doesn't leave me whatsoever to believe that you MUST regurgitate back the liberal bulllshit as pure fact in order to receive that A."

You're a good poster, but these comments are pure BS.

Liberalism thrives in most public universities in this country. As someone who stayed in school beyond the bachelors degree level, I would hope you are least intellectually honest enough to admit it.

I completely admit that. But, i still stand-by the fact that the whole "you've gotta regurgitate what the liberal professor says to get an A" is not even close to being on the mark.

2009 was Australia's second-warmest year on record, with the annual mean temperature 0.90C above average.

Dr Jones says the results have been partly driven by three record-breaking heatwaves.

Temperatures soared in southern Australia during late January and early February, contributing to the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria.

A winter heatwave over most of the inland resulted in the warmest August on record, while another heatwave in November across central and south-east Australia saw a record eight consecutive days of maximum temperatures in Adelaide.

"These broke records by large margins over large areas. Very, very extreme events," Dr Jones said.

"To get one of them in a year would have been unusual. To get three is just really quite remarkable."

Dr Jones says overall temperatures in the south-east were above average.

"It turns out the Murray-Darling Basin, South Australia and New South Wales all recorded their warmest years on record," he said.

"But of course if you look at absolute temperatures some very notable numbers appeared.

"We saw a 48.8C during February in Victoria on Black Saturday and also some very high temperatures in South Australia and WA [Western Australia] with many numbers close to 49, 48 degrees."

Dr Jones says some areas of the country are being affected more than others.

Man-made global warming is bullshit which is why the tree huggers changed their strategy by renaming it "climate change". Since the climate is always changing they figured they were safe in doing so.

As all the Al Gore disciples stood outside in the Copenhagen ice box, their Chicken Little World Wealth Redistribution Conference was a laughing stock and fell apart...RAPIDLY.

    LMAO

Yea, terrible weather all over the place in Europe. My friend at work just got back from Germany yesterday, had some crazy pictures of those ice breakers out on the rivers.

Whether or not global warming/climate change are real, can we all at least agree that it is a good idea to try to take better care of the environment? I'm not saying we should penalize companies with things like cap n trade while jobs get shipped overseas where no such rules exist, but rather give incentives to those who look for cleaner, more sustainable and more efficient means of production. It also means you and I being conscious about our impact on the world.

As for the topic at hand. Sadly I think cold-related deaths will continue as more and more people can't afford heat and many are living on the streets.

Absolutely. It's the cap and trade people I have an issue with. They don't care about the environment unless it makes them a buck.
