John Kerry was for it before he was against it.

ptown_trojans_12009, before the uprising of March 2011.
And I have eaten that restaurant, and stayed in the Old City where it is located, beautiful place.
The whole point of the trip was to reopen Syria.
Obviously did not work.

and we supported Iraq vs Iran, Bin Ladin when the Russians invaded, etc etc etc. Alliances change throughout time and this is no different.IggyPride00;1494785 wrote:This is our Secretary of State having his Rumsfeld moment.

TedShecklerDid Iraq kill 3000 Americans 12 years before we supported them in 1980? Had Bin Ladin killed 3000 Americans 12 years before we supported the Taliban in 1978?

Did Assad kill thousands of Americans before Kerry had dinner with him, or before he gassed his people the last few months?TedSheckler;1494831 wrote:Did Iraq kill 3000 Americans 12 years before we supported them in 1980? TedShecklerHow so? You brought up Iraq vs. Iran and Afghanistan vs. Russia.
In neither of those instances had 3000 Americans been murdered by the side we seek to align with. -

What side are we aligning with that killed 3000 americans?TedSheckler;1494844 wrote:How so? You brought up Iraq vs. Iran and Afghanistan vs. Russia.

TedShecklerI don't know. A little organization named al-Qaeda.
-
thavoiceThey are not expected to be in the main opposition fighting forces. They have joined in the fight to an extent as they just like to fight, but any action against Assad is because he is using chemical weapons.Nice try though.

That was Jenjis Khan. And Kerry by his own testimony did not fight against him but along side him.cruiser_96;1495050 wrote:Ummm, you guys do realize that John Kerry served in Vietnam, right? I think he fought against Genghis Kahn. -

The reason why the President wants to attack is to basically tell Assad that they cannot use Chemical Weapons, and strikes are SUPPOSED to be some sort of deterrent to use it in the future. The US, we, are trying to be referee's I guess, right or wrongly. Just because a ref punishes one side doesn't mean he is supporting the other.
I guess we basically want to say to them....keep on fighting and killing each other, but don't use chemical weapons.
I guess...but who knows. -
