    I guess I should have clarified. I was only speaking to the current level of "big brotherness" that occurs, not advocating for anything heightened.

    In my defense, what you're advocating is that if anything is heightened we should be expecting to be randomly searched on the street when that is just as absurd of a thought than anything the opposition is advocating. It's simply not going to happen.

    to this thread looking for investigation updates and all I got was politics forum. Am I the only one? Not that it isn't a reasonable debate, but it has its time and place.

    I'll summarize my point for you to simplify:

    Heightened security/more inconvenience: less terror attacks
    Lesser security/less inconvenience: more terror attacks

    That is a gross oversimplification of the issues at work but you clearly don't get my point unless I explain it like that.


    EDIT: I'm not saying Israel's security is more lax than the U.S. I'm saying it's more lax than the U.S. would be if we were in a constant war zone like Israel.

    I personally agree with you. But it's tough to untie situations like this from politics.
