    If bowing to the state trumps bowing to your savior's wishes than I would change your surname here. No true Christian could justify what is happening to Manning. And...conversely...what isn't happening to the perpetrators.

    Come judgement day, who gets in? Manning? Or the helicopter pilots picking off people with high powered rifles? Somehow, in your view, war justifies breaking God's laws. Apparently, you're OK with that.

    To stick with the Hitler reference, did that argument hold up for the guards at the concentration camps? Just because you are ordered to do something and it's "legal" doesn't mean it's right or you should do it.

    We have already agreed collectively that morality/right wrong are not necessarily displayed in the law.

    Mr. Manning had a choice to follow through with what he determined was right. There are costs associated with it.

    If you are speaking about Christianity the actions or sins on earth are not what determines eternity with God the father.

    Consider yourself "lucky" BoatShoes. Normally he circumvents substance and goes straight to "you're a serial liar". It's the way he rolls as he hides behing the internet. Prob. had the crap kicked out of him throughout his high school life.

    Who said it gives you a free pass? You are as unable to sin as those who are carrying out the sin you are demonizing.

    I'm just hopeful that the more we can argue these topics we can clearly see that the Rs and Ds are on the same side and the people are on the other. The faster we get over this left/right nonsense then maybe we will see the rise of an opponent to single party rule in this country.

    Is this a D/R/ issue? What side are the D/Rs on? Maybe I don't understand the political ideological issues as it relates to Mr. Manning.

    It's more than person's of political that would like him punished for breaking the law. I don't see the correlation to it being a party related desire.

    It all depends on whether disobedience of the law has enough popular support for potential success. There is always risk and that risk is always great even with a significant amount of popular support. Then there are the acts of folly. Usually committed by deranged individuals where there is little or no hope for success in fostering any real political movement against the ruling government.

    The founders had gained the support of a popular movement and wisely cast their lot as leaders of that movement and not like an individual with a vendetta that acts irrationally. Had their movement failed they would no doubt been hung as traitors. There was that risk. Had they failed we would read of these traitors in our history books. Bought with dollars with the queens image printed upon them. Benedict Arnold would be a national hero.

    Bradley Manning strikes me as an individual acting with a personal vendetta. Likely has personal mental issues. Not someone I could get behind at all as some revolutionary hero. I do agree he is getting a raw deal. The classified information he released was only damaging to PR not the strategic nature. He should have had his day in court by now.
