  Pure sophistry. The "sky isn't falling" because people like us fought back. The original healthcare bill would have required a 1099 for each and every b-to-b transaction - a ludicrous requirement that would help no one and cause a massive amount of paperwork. What happened? It got removed.
  
  I would expect the same thing to happen with the tax on medical devices. Just an utterly arbitrary and unnecessary tax. The sky hasn't fallen precisely because smart Americans have exposed the idiocy of this administration, with results.

  The left calls this process "obstruction". Apparently, whatever letter the President has next to his name, that party is supposed to get ultimate free reign to make policy.

  Well I'm certainly impressed that "people like you" have fought back. What "people like you" have failed to do is stop perpetuating the myth that everything about this administration is somehow sinister and socialist. While not perfect by a long shot, things are simply not as bad as you would have everyone think. The constant hand-wringing by many of you here on the OC is becoming quite amusing to see every day. There are no new, thought-provoking threads being started, merely rehashing of your tired old complaints about the D's.

  That's like the umpteenth time you've said that with virtually no evidence. Reality check:
  
  We have record debt
  We have disturbingly record-high student loan debt
  We have an asset bubble propped up by manipulating interest rates
  We have record high "young" unemployment rate
  We have arguably the most divided country ever
  We have inarguably the most sycophantic legacy media
  
  That adds up to a pretty lousy society with a disturbing future to me. I don't know if Obama's sinister, I'm not sure he's competent enough to be sinister. But he's done a horrible job so far. The country is far worse in his years of time than it was over the periods of every previous POTUS I've lived under save Carter.

  What amuses and amazes me is that guys like you raked "W" over the coals with impunity but now feel a need to feel butt-hurt now that the heat is on your boy. You refuse to stop sucking down the Kool Aid and fail to see that Obama's ineptitude makes "W" seem like a genius.

  There's enough kool aid for both sides. I agree it's funny to see the D's get upset when anyone does exactly what they did to W, but W did start to majorly erode into our freedoms and liberties with the patriot act and Obama has only kept his foot firmly on the pedal.

  If Obama was a Repub there'd be near riots over 20+ REAL minority unemployment. Can only guess what the liberal media would be saying about the deficits. Much was made of Bush's "TRILLION dollar war"....nary a peep over the trillionS flushed down the toilet by Obama.
  
  What is really funny (and sad) is that Ryan "austerity" budget calls for like 3.6% annual growth. At least the Dems are starting to be honest about the debt - they simply don't care.

  I'm simply pointing out how the Dems/Libs/"Progressives" were screaming from the mountaintops about the eeeeevil neo-cons in the Bush Administration for 8 solid years. Yet they are strangely silent about the Barry Bunch's ability to take what Bush started and multiply it exponentially.
  
  Look at ObamaKare vs. prescription drugs, DHS/TSA = Patriot Act Squared, 5% vs 8.7% unemployment, gas prices from $2 a gallon to $4, etc. Nary a peep on the things that would have incensed the lefties just 5 years ago.

  It was obama himself who called Mr. Bush's deficits "unpatriotic". Now that obama has already outdone Bush's deficits (in half the time), it is easily fair to call obama's failures treasonous. He wouldn't have lasted two months in a private sector leadership position.

  In a related matter, why is the federal government and their fellow statists hell-bent on getting guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens? Hmmmm....anyone else see a correlation between gun confiscation and future wealth theft? Oh wait...I forgot...they'll only steal money from the evil rotten scum-sucking wealthy.

  Naw....Big Sis is buying ammo to protect us from terror foreign and domestic. They know what's best for us. So just turn-in your guns and ammo and let the Feds control your life. It's simple really.

  The point I'm trying to make is that there is nothing new and debatable here anymore. Just a matter of piling on with the same threads. The only person who seems to open new threads is belly and, while I admire his tenacity and desire to provoke fresh thinking, they can be damn hard to understand.
