Disgusted with kasich administration - Part II

  • Bigdogg
As promised, what has our governor been up to besidestrying to sell our turnpike at bargain basements prices for one time cashpayment for some of his pet projects like robsohio that has a poor record? Wellfor one we are all starting to feel the pain from his sleight of hand trick ofbalancing the budget. Yep, we are all paying more dollars to our localgovernments who have seen 50% cuts of state funds. Nice job you idiot! 2014 can’tcome too soon.

you posted this on another thread.....don't talk out of both sides of your mouth.

Ohio ranked #4 nationally in job growth last year....this in an Obama 'economy'.

Funny. We are not paying one dime more in my city, nor in others. In fact, most municipalities are now doing what they should have been doing all along: managing their plentiful resources in an efficient manner.

Gosh, liberal public sector unions hate it when that happens.

Thank you Governor Kasich for your excellent leadership.

    Carry on.

thank you john for helping Obama carry ohio
you pushed sb 5 through the General Assembly to deprive police, fire persons and teachers of the basic right to negotiate. the opposition organized and handed you a humiliating rejection by overwhelming portion of the Ohio electorae. That organization survived to help Obama carry Ohio.

Yep. Local issues should be funded locally, not by the state. Now cities that have been used to fat budgets are scrambling, because they haven't been managing it well all along.

I actually voted against Kasich and regret it. He's actually a great governor and our state is much improved because of him

Kasich has a strange habit of taking credit for what other people have done. Without the auto bail out Ohio would have been desolate. The recovery started under Strickland. Hopefully in another two years you will see the error of your ways and see that dirty bastard in Columbus for what he really is. By the way did you see what the Republican first order of business was after the election? Defund Planed Parenthood. That's focusing on the economy like a laser?

  • derek bomar
DOGG... give it up. As someone who is a registered D, Kasich is infintely better than Strickland.

Oh no, you mean Kasich wants the people to take care of their own cities?? That's crazy talk. We need the big government to handle all that!!

John got the advantage of the Obama economic upturn. Then of course he pushed is hateful attack on police, fire fighter, teacher bargaining rights. Which lead to a humiliating defeat for him and his supporters.

Actually, people do take care of their own local government. We still pay our taxes in Columbus and they redistribute back to the local governments. All that is happening now is we are getting less of our dollars back from Columbus, and our local governments are increasing our taxes to offset the loss of revenues from the state.

Does that really sound efficient to you? Does it make sense to you to pay taxes to the state, and have them give money back to your local govt? Or does it make more sense to just pay those taxes directly to your local govt and cut-out the middle man?

Think about it for a second. We have large metropolitan centers and small villages and rural areas. We use to do it that way, there is a reason we don't.

What would the "reason we don't" be?

Some things make sense to centralize, others don't. Where you start wasting taxpayer money is when you start duplicating redundancies at the state and federal levels - and all those little power hungry bitches want more power and think they can do everything better. Hats off to Kasich for recognizing the state is flushing money down the toilet on many things properly handled at the local level.

At least one conservative has Kasich all figured out. Kasich claims that he is blocking Obamacare by declining to set up a state exchange is the same old page out of his playbook of misinformation and downright dirty lies. What he really did was enter in to a state/federal hybrid approach in Ohio, which is certainly better than an outright refusal to participate like some other Republican Governors but not what he should be doing.
Ohio’s Republican Governor John Kasich has reneged on his campaign pledge to “block ObamaCare” from being established in Ohio. And he has done it a way that would make Barack Obama proud—by lying through his teeth.

If you understood any employee/employer relationship you would realize that SB5 did not depive anyone of their right to negotiate. It took away collective bargaining but everyone still had the right to bargain on their own (like most employees at most work places do).

Huge difference between what you and the unions stated vs reality.

lol, the only way workers can hope for any fairness in dealing with large institutions is in collectively bargaining.
as people of ohio realized in their overwhelming rejection of sb5, a complete rejection of your views.
