Your First Time - Creepy new Obama Ad

tk421I wish there were a single journalist with enough balls to ask the President if he has any thoughts about who his daughters should have their first times with, since he seems to have no problem telling the American public that young girls should have their first time with him.
Of course, the journalist would probably end up at Gitmo. -

It might have been funnier if it was for Bill Clinton.
Imagine if it had been put out by any other candidate. There would be a frenzy in the major news outlets.
Manhattan Buckeye;1304869 wrote:You need to read Peggy Noonan's WSJ article, it echoes the same sentiment - it is more or less "holy crap this guy is incompetent yet still believes his own BS."
I read that, and while I don't particularly care for Noonan, she wasn't wrong in the article.
Seriously, I'm not even voting for Romney, but I would have LOVED to see the hypocritical reaction if Romney had come out with such an ad.tk421;1305171 wrote:I wish there were a single journalist with enough balls to ask the President if he has any thoughts about who his daughters should have their first times with, since he seems to have no problem telling the American public that young girls should have their first time with him.

2kool4skoolI hadn't heard people use the term "slut" as a legitimate insult for promiscuous behavior by a woman since 7th grade. Only heard it used in a joking manner.
I assumed it had kind of died out once people grew up and realized that sex is fun and demonizing it is weird. -
Manhattan Buckeye"I assumed it had kind of died out once people grew up and realized that sex is fun and demonizing it is weird."
I think walking my dog is fun, I don't expect the government to pay for his dog food or his boarding costs - and if I did "slut" is the least of the slurs I'd expect - psychopathic weirdo would be the term I'd expect.
That said, I'd never date a woman who had sex with more than "X" men - in fact it happened to me when one of my closest friends and former girlfriend had a "weird" stage in her extra semester year of college and slept with half of our football team. We're still friends but I made it clear we were never going out again when her reputation hit the fan.
I ended up marrying her roommate. Cool story bro. 2 cool even for you. -

Slut = somewhat shallow = easily manipulated with sex = relatively stupid ... at least that's what I perceive as the socially understood rule.2kool4skool;1305259 wrote:I assumed it had kind of died out once people grew up and realized that sex is fun and demonizing it is weird.
And that doesn't even take into account the increased likelihood of disease, which is considered "dirty."
I don't think anyone demonizes sex when they use "slut" as a pejorative term. I think they're demonizing the person that is so shallow. -
tk421of all the issues, free birth control seems to be the one that would be least important. How much are condoms or if you don't have insurance, how much does the pill cost? How many supposed "poor" people have phones, high speed internet, DISH, multiple flat screen TVs, expensive clothes, etc. yet they can't afford to pay for the most basic of needs?
Although, if I had to chose I'd rather pay these people NOT to breed than have to pay for 18 years for the kids they'll end up with. According to planned parenthood, the pill is 15-50/month, so for less than the cost of your phone plan you can be childfree. Nah, that's not affordable. -

Manhattan Buckeye"According to planned parenthood, the pill is 15-50/month"
This is for the most part correct. You can pick up a basic pill at Wal-Mart or Target for at most $15/month and likely cheaper. If one has a prescription for hormonal or other concerns at most, the very most it is $50/month. Looking at our medical receipts my wife's pill costs were about $440 for the year, and she had a prescription. The whole issue is such a non-issue it boggles the mind. -

It is a non-issue.Manhattan Buckeye;1305266 wrote:The whole issue is such a non-issue it boggles the mind.
Here's the deal though....this election is easily about the economy. So issues like a woman's right to breed with whomever they want at taxpayer expense have largely been back-burnered.
The Barry Bunch, desperate to take the focus off the economy, are pissed because the Repubs have taken a relatively low-profile on abortion, etc. this time around. So they are attempting to fan the flames of issues they perceive will help them gain the female vote. They honestly believe that all women are Democrats. -

LOL at thinking her roommate/your wife wasn't also getting the BBC on the regular. -
sportchamppsEhh my girlfriend gets endometriois and her health insurance doesn't cover the birth control even though it's used to treat the disease. She pays $75 a month so she doesn't have to have surgery every few years. Even with this my girlfriend said she doesn't care about a free birth control she would rather have a better economy that would allow her to make more money.

Although I'm a libertarian and believe in less government, birth control needs to be FREE exactly because of this. There is nothing we can do to stop the morons and poor people from reproducing, but we can lessen the impact by pumping them full of birth control. The only way to do this is offer it for free because poor and stupid people won't buy it otherwise.tk421;1305263 wrote:of all the issues, free birth control seems to be the one that would be least important. Con_AlmaAnyone can go into a free clinic now and receive free condoms can they not? They don't even need to identify themselves.
