Military spending: A perspective ...

  • O-Trap
To put military spending in terms that everyday people understand, someone did a chart, which was a good idea because, let's face it, we're Americans, and we prefer pictures to reading. :D

NOTE: It doesn't give numbers in the initial infograph on how many of these are paid for in a given year ... or if it is, I didn't see it.

Needless to say, I'm no fan of the volume of military spending we as a nation do, and I wouldn't suggest that we actually spend the money on the comparison items. Moreover, I do realize that some of this is absolutely necessary for genuine national defense.

However, given the cost of creation alone, let alone operation, I would hope that we wouldn't be paying for more than we need to protect ourselves.

If anything, I just found the comparisons interesting. Human life aside, the price of war should be weighed FAR more carefully than I think it is.

I'd like to put an order in for an Abrams tank, should make my commute easier.

i can't fly, but i'm sure driving one of those things would be pretty easy. Also, i'd like the satisfaction of driving over cars and putting a tank shell through my place of business.

If you could afford and justify buying any one of them, I'm sure you could afford lessons to learn to operate them. ;)

I think i have a better chance of driving a tank first try than flying a plane. Seriously, I want a tank. I'll take a used one too, i don't care.

Someone drunk stole a tank for a joyride a few years back. Caused all kinds of mayhem. Gotta admit, looks like fun.
