What do you choose for dinner?
-
O-TrapSuppose you were a part of a group of 101 people. These 101 people were given a choice on what to eat for dinner, but they all have to eat the same thing, and it would be determined by a casting of votes. The choices were as follows:
1. Cow dung
2. Cow vomit
3. Ribeye
Now, through discussion with many of those in your group of 101, you have come to learn that, through the promotion of the farmer(s), the only two options that have a realistic chance of winning are the dung and the vomit.
You don't know for sure which between those two is the front-runner, but it is certain that it is not the ribeye.
Given your one vote to cast, how do you vote?
-
sleeperI would kill myself.
-
sleeperBut to play along, I would vote for Ribeye. I know where you are going with this.

Well of course you do. I put it in the political section.sleeper;1296312 wrote:But to play along, I would vote for Ribeye. I know where you are going with this. -
O-TrapPoll added for the fun of it.

isadorewhy is romney on the list of choices twice?
-
fish82I would choose the vomit, slather it with Frank's Red Hot and hope it didn't suck too badly.
Between bites, I'd tell the Ribeye to get it's sht together and run a better campaign next time. -

I'd love to hear more about how the Ribeye should run a better campaign.fish82;1296327 wrote:I would choose the vomit, slather it with Frank's Red Hot and hope it didn't suck too badly.

a) It's a ribeye. They don't talk, let alone run campaigns.fish82;1296327 wrote:I would choose the vomit, slather it with Frank's Red Hot and hope it didn't suck too badly.

b) Nobody said you had the option of hot sauce.
c) Did you actually say you hoped eating animal vomit wouldn't suck too badly?
d) Just because you vote that way doesn't necessarily mean you'd win. -
jmogI'll play along.
According to your assumption, we know for a fact that the Ribeye has zero chance of winning correct?
Also, according to your assumption, we believe the vomit and dung have relatively equal chances of winning correct?
I assume the vomit is slightly better than the dung and therefore while I would hate having to eat either one, would DEFINITELY hate eating cow $#!+.
I vote for the vomit. -

Also, dung != vomit, per my old biology teacher, though I could be wrong. -

jmogThe one assumption you are wrong on O-Trap, is that while the educated individual easily sees the Ribeye is by far superior to the other options, the sheep of the nation have been fed that the vomit and dung are the best options for the country for decades and the sheople believe it.
That's the sad thing. -

Actually the really sad thing is the self-pronounced non-sheeple still vote for the vomit and dung.jmog;1296386 wrote:The one assumption you are wrong on O-Trap, is that while the educated individual easily sees the Ribeye is by far superior to the other options, the sheep of the nation have been fed that the vomit and dung are the best options for the country for decades and the sheople believe it.

I agree. It's why I think voting has lost a good portion of its actual value, and it's why I don't think voting is any longer a civic responsibility. Granted, it was when it served its purpose.jmog;1296386 wrote:The one assumption you are wrong on O-Trap, is that while the educated individual easily sees the Ribeye is by far superior to the other options, the sheep of the nation have been fed that the vomit and dung are the best options for the country for decades and the sheople believe it.

As for the topic, I didn't leave this as an option, but I might just refrain from casting a vote. -
O-Trap
The assumption is that they're the only ones that can win, but that ends up being a self-fulfilling prophecy, because as long as enough people think that, and vote accordingly, it will be true.sleeper;1296391 wrote:Actually the really sad thing is the self-pronounced non-sheeple still vote for the vomit and dung. -

Don't refrain from voting. That is actually disenfranchising yourself. Remember a vote for anyone other than Romney is a vote for Obama!O-Trap;1296394 wrote:I agree. ZWICK 4 PREZwho says there is actual ribeye and not just more vomit and dung?
-

Fair enough. The third option looks like ribeye. It smells like ribeye. It has the consistency of ribeye. Others in smaller groups have had it and said it was ribeye.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1296405 wrote:who says there is actual ribeye and not just more vomit and dung?
At that point, I am comfortable assuming it to be ribeye. However, I suppose I don't inherently blame someone for being skeptical. -

So you vote for ribeye and ribeye wins and you're served manure.O-Trap;1296410 wrote:Fair enough. The third option looks like ribeye. It smells like ribeye. It has the consistency of ribeye. Others in smaller groups have had it and said it was ribeye.

se-alumBad analogy. The vomit and dung are actual. Presidential vote is opinion.
