Michele Bachmann says Deputy Chief has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood

Well Gee, this proves the point people are making about Bachmann...that she's really just some kind of anti-all-Islam person and not grounding her suspicions about Ms. Abedin in any evidence that is not wholly and completely spurious. You cite a guy who just wants to rail about Islam generally and it's infiltration into our society to connect this to Ms. Abedin, who, by all accounts in the state department has a sterling reputation and total allegiance to the United States.

Nothing would satisfy you don't you see? You're convinced, like the guy in the article that Islam as a proxy for radical islam is creeping into all facets of society and it's more likely than not that Ms. Abedin is secretly working for the Muslim brotherhood from the inside. There is no evidence...evidence being the operative word...for anything that Ms. Bachmann has suggested.

But hey, you've suggested before that President Obama has secret allegiances to Islam because he had an absentee drunk father who happened to be a Muslim.

Why even start a thread about Michelle Bachmann's ungrounded assertions? Just start a thread railing about Islam and how President Obama and Muslim's in the state department are secretly trying to wage Jihad against the United States from within. Stop beating around the bus

Setting Ms Abedin aside, the larger issue that gets swept under the rug are the State Dept's obvious and continued favorable policies toward Muslim Brotherhood recently. That should be concerning to anyone I would think.

Nobody is suggesting Ms Abedin is secretly working for the Muslim Brotherhood, or even if there's any evidence of that. The issue, for those who read and comprehend what the State Dept says about security clearances for classified info, is a potential conflict of interest. No different than an attorney handling a case involving friends or family- nobody would say the attorney is a crook, it just would appear less-than-legit if he or she took such a case. Is it a good idea for someone with family ties like Ms Abedin to have such clearances, could she be tempted to compromise her position in some way? Common sense stuff.

Don't remember that. I remember stating he has sympathies to Islam, which aren't exactly secret.

There are a lot of things to worry about in the US. The Muslim brotherhood is not one of them.

Yeah, and the State Department no doubt took that into consideration before handing her a security clearance determining that she in all likelihood wouldn't undermine U.S. policies in the middle east due to spurious familial relations fully in compliance with state department guidelines. These "potential" conflicts of interest were surely evaluated long before Ms. Bachmann got on her soapbox. There's probably too many people with security clearances these days in the post 9/11 era but they don't just hand out security clearances like food stamps.

And, this idea that the State department is acting favorably to the Muslim Brotherhood is absurd as is the idea that President Obama is more sympathetic to Islam in any real appreciable way than other Presidents. He's blowing them up with drones all the time.

Facism is a powerful force in the USA right now. Many are facist but refuse to admit it. Bachman is the worst of the worst.
