Do you care if Romney invested in companies that outsourced job over 10 years ago?

passwordThe Obama campaign is trying to push this down everyones throat and divert attention away from the Obama disasters. When people questioned Obama being involved with and a great friend of an anti american preacher who would like to see this country burned down to the ground, we were told to not concentrate on the past but look to the future. When people questioned his relationship with the black panthers and letting them visit the white house, you were branded a racist. Why is it that anytime people question his actions we are told to quit living in the past and stop being a racist, but he can question things about Romney and demand answers because he says the people of our country deserve to know about a the past of a man that is running for president.

believer1. Romney was highly involved with Bain Capital, a private equity venture capital company that invests that capital into generally marginal or poor performing businesses in an attempt to make them profitable. Nothing wrong with that. That's the definition of capitalism and is as American as you can get.
2. Do venture capital companies sometimes lay off employees in the companies in which they invest? Absolutely. Sometimes the tree needs pruned in order to sprout new, healthy growth. Did Bain do this? Sure. Was Romney involved? Probably. Does this mean Romney as POTUS will ship American jobs overseas? No more so than Obama's big benefactor - GE - has done. Besides, the POTUS doesn't create jobs but he or she can cheer lead a political and economic environment that promotes private sector growth. Reagan was famous for this. Obama has no clue. NONE, ZERO, NADA. Do I think Mitt will be like Reagan? Nope. But I have a hunch he understands this concept better than the inept Skinny Socialist.
3. In the final analysis, who gives a CRAP when exactly Romney left Bain Capital and in what possible way does that impact Romney's ability to be POTUS? What we are witnessing here folks is the fact that the Obama campaign knows Barry is in some serious danger of losing the election and they are desperately looking for a way to smear Romney to deflect attention to Obama's own failings. I think it's odd that Obama has the balls to call out Romney on "outsourcing jobs" when the Community Organizer has NEVER created a private sector job in his life.
This is all bullshit of the highest caliber and will fail. -
jordo212000No don't care. It is 2012. I'm not naive. Sometimes jobs go overseas.

Then why is Mitt so defensive on the issue? Why is he so desparate in his attempts to separate himself and ties with Bain Capital? Why not reiterate exactly what you've said here?believer;1225564 wrote:1. International carpetbagging is a staple of "good business". The rules allow it and the corporate cartel embelish it. Bain Capital embellishes it. Conservatives view labor as nothing more than an expense on the balance sheet. Why even have minimum wage laws? Pay em what the market will bear...as in 2.50 an hour like they do in China. Oh, and make them stretch that 2.50 and hour and pay for their own health care.
So Mitt represented the class of corporate leaders that espouse a 2 class feudalistic society in the US. Come clean and admit it Mitt. This is what you envision and that's exactly what you want. To dance around the issue is silly. Come out and admit it. -
I Wear PantsThe problem for Mitt is he wants to distance himself from anything Bain did after about 1999 because that's when they really started outsourcing and stuff (regardless of whether it's sometimes an intelligent business decision it simply isn't popular) but it's now looking that he was the CEO of Bain until 2003 (might have been 2002). Mitt is probably going to try to distance himself from Bain because of their investments in things like Stericycle (one of the things they did was dispose of medical waste from Planned Parenthood aka aborted fetuses) as well as companies like Monsanto.

Cleveland BuckNo.

bases_loadedThose companies go under without Bain... Is it better to outsource jobs and save a company and some jobs or lose all jobs???

fan_from_texasI'm glad he did it. It's unAmerican to keep failing businesses alive. Let them die and be reborn in better form.

passwordI think Romney is trying to distance himself from Bain because he knows that Obama will continue to use it against him to convince the narrow minded people that Romney will shut down all American businesses and ship all the jobs overseas, which is 100% impossible. If the only thing that Obama can dig up on Romney is that he is a rich successful businessman, then Obama better increase the playing of the race card real soon and not give up on it until after the election when he has to start packing his things and let Romney move in. I have not heard any stories about Romney being involved with any anti american people or having an anti american wife who is embarrassed of the United States of America, so until then I will be voting for Romney in 2012. I will also add that decreasing our nuclear missle arsenal to 300-400 missles is a little stupid also, but Obama wants to be more friendly to the other nations that have nuclear weapons.

Um , I think Obama supporters understand where Nike shit is made. Right wingers that cry about high unemployment in this country are funny dudes indeed. -

1. Unsealing and issuing collegiate applications and transcripts?

I agree Romney should fess up with what he did with HIS MONEY, as he is running for the highest office in the land. But I'm continually befuddled why there is such a desire to discover what he did running his own businesses vs. Obama, who has spent hundreds of billions of OUR CURRENT and FUTURE TAXPAYER'S DOLLARS on his donors and campaign supporters without equal retribution. -

lol Legislation is initiated in Congress not the executive branch. And even if Obama was able "initiate legislation" what could he possibly bring to the table? The inept Skinny Socialist has never created a single private sector job but he thinks he has the answers for bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States? He can start by not blocking good ideas like the Keystone Pipeline. He can have his henchmen in the EPA back off the coal and natural gas industries. Maybe he can have a chat with his buddies in GE and have them stop investing huge $$$$ in China. Perhaps George Soros can help him with that one? Why not reign in his left winger pals in Big Labor? I have more. -
passwordCNN released a new poll and it has Obama overwhelmingly getting the black vote, it shows Romney only getting 5% of the black vote. I understand that some people do like him but when the unemployment rate for blacks is over 14% in this country, how can they still want him for another 4 years.

Start your own thread on Obama's transparency. This thread is about Romney. Answer my question, please. Why is Romney so afraid of this issue? Is that not cowardly to the nth degree? Republicans love to see outsourcing...yet they complain and complain about high unemployment. They are a funny lot I tell ya.BGFalcons82;1225737 wrote:Huh...running from issues, eh? Coward you say? And that question pretty much summarizes the difference between what you think is good for our society, and what I think is good for our society. You admit to seeing nothing wrong with America's economic demise. Romney feels the same way as you do, except he's too cowardly to admit it.gut;1225739 wrote:Why? Tell me what policies that Obama implemented in his tenure that caused the rise in unemployment. Keep in mind, since 1972, every president, whether right or wrong, has addressed high unemployment in 3 ways.password;1225819 wrote:They are influenced by his decision and policy making. A. Reduce interest rates (presently at record lows)
B. Deficit spend (5 trillion and rolling in Obama's reign)
C. Print fiat money. (Ibid)
Some have kept taxes low as well..
Obama did all 4 of those things.
So again, what policies did Obama put in place that shot up unemployment?
