Is it Condi?

Drudge is reporting Mittster is seriously assessing Condi Rice for Veep: http://www.drudgereport.com/flashcm.htm

What say you OC? Good choice?

Personally I do not understand why Rice would even consider it. Yes being VP isn't a bad gig, but quite frankly after being Secretary of State the Veep position would seem inconsequential. Veep may be one heartbeat away from POTUS, Secretary of State has more real power and influence in gubmint affairs.

My guess is no. I think she would be a great choice, and is by far the most qualified, competent and accomplished African-American to hold an executive office. But to your point I don't think she wants the job, she is happy where she is, doesn't need to be bothered with politics and why would she accept a position with very little actual power.

I think this is a faux leak from the opposition so that when Romney chooses someone else the race/gender card can be part of the arsenal for not picking her. God knows they have little else they have left, other than attacking him for being successful.

There's a lot to like about her, but plenty of other good options to choose from. Don't need any ties to the GWB presidency.

    Rubio

Rice would be a good choice. She is very smart and accomplished.

I don't see it happening however, unless she has aspirations of being POTUS in 8 years.

No to her being a VP canidate. That is a waste of her talents. Plus, she is not a political person.
SECSTATE for Romney, hell yeah though.
  • HitsRus
Yeah, I'd love to see Condi on the ticket just to see her shred Biden in the VP debates.... Very intelligent, thoughtful person...but certainly a waste of talent at VP. But you could say the same about Rubio etc.etc.

    Gov. Palin couldn't

Rice is too sane for the bulk of the party

Kelly Ayotte is far more likely.

I think so too. Romney HAS to be looking at her for SEc of State.

    Rubio is my Veep choice.

No on Condi - She lacks political skills (not necessarily a bad thing, but it's too risky to learn it on the run), she has too many ties to the evil satanic GWB 43, and as jmog states, she doesn't seem to have aspirations for the VP job nor the presidency.

It should be: 1. Rubio (a real conservative); 2. McDonnell; 3. Pawlenty As I've stated many times before, I really wanted Chris Christie for POTUS. I don't think he'd make a very good VP partner as he'd command the media's attention, not Mitt. He has also stated this as well.

I saw Ayotte on one of the political shows this week and she was completely unable to utter an original thought. If anyone is considering her for the VP spot they are delusional.

Romney needs a pit bull, someone who can go after Obama and Biden real hard. Unfortunately, my guess is he will pick Portman. Kinda like the "dull and duller" option.

^^^ I agree on that. "R"'s cannot afford another Palin. Condi Rice is far more articulate and can win points with moderate voters. The biggest question is whether she would want the job. It's great thinking that if Romney is elected, it would be great to have her back of SecState....but Mitt has to get elected first.

No to Condi better servied as Secstate

I do think however Romney should start to drop some names as potential cabinet positions.

Obama cabinet member are all socialist and fraud and America knows this...

Careful, Belly, you're starting to sound like that Bachmann woman.
