Don't hate on unions. Were the reason the rest of you have benefits, 40 hour work weeks(I know some ppl obviously work longer), weekends and a little thing called the middle class

Really? I'm always curious when people make this claim. Is the assumption that without unions, all jobs would be miserable forever? That seems unlikely to me.

Obviously not. That's a terribly extreme statement and you're setting up a strawman.

Should we stop honoring Jackie Robinson because if he didn't do it, it still would have happened anyways?

Well they were the people who broke through to enforce this from factories and then other employers began to do similar things because people would rather work for the steel mill where they get more raises, benefits, pensions, than Employer B. Eventually employer B started doing the same to get good employees. Idk though it's not like we're lazy as f***. The ones with the cakejobs are the ones with 25-30 years of seniority. We just have job security but hey we pay for that right

Well no but who knows how long some of the unfair practices would have continued. It's like when people claim we don't need/didn't need environmental regulations because companies are for the most part much better about pollution and such these days. Well who knows how long we would have went before companies stopped polluting by themselves without being forced to. We'll never know but I wager it would have been a while.

Doesn't mean you are anything but a drag on the American competitiveness now. That's like saying fighting wars with the British gave us a free country, might as well keep fighting with them.

Please give me an example when the Unions "threat effect" tactic has actually worked? Unions don't have the power to do this anymore.

Unions may have been a benefit to us 100 years ago. Now, labor unions are only viable because billions were given by our Government.

Perhaps you hit the nail on the head, the baby boomer and previous generations of union members not only sold out their employers, but their own children. Ask the typical UAW 25-year old, how are those reduced salaries, benefits and outlook working out for you? If nothing else you're padding the retirement packages of the nation's worst generation.

LOL Who told you that lie? There is no such thing as "job security" even with union dues and union thuggery. You might have "job seniority". Big difference.

When SB 5 in Ohio was being voted on the Union Advertisement told the public that jobs would be lost and the protection of citizen would be limited if SB 5 would be passed. Schools would cut teachers and education programs would be lost also..

Today because of the Unions many cities have to cut Police, Fire and EMS, along with other city employees. Costing families within the community to suffer and lose of tax base income. Teacher and other staff in many district lost their job because of budget problem due to the Union and benefit of not sharing the expense like to private sector.

Union cares for a few not the many, as long as a Unions have political partners the public interest and well being will not be served

they have been cut because of reduction in state funding not because of the unions

Which is the whole point. With SB5 in place, schools and municipalities could have structured wages and benefits to fit their needs. Instead, they have to cut because they have to pay what the union contract says.

YOU aren't the reason. Not even close. Unions 50, 75, 100 years ago are the reason. Today's union does nothing but inflate wages and increase prices for everyone. Gee, I wonder why our jobs are going overseas?

they have to continue to allow input from their workers in these decisions brought on my state budget cuts. horror of horrors that the workers have some input on the decisions that effect their lives.

yea lets all work for the minimum wage that they pay over seas so everyone can have a low paying job. sounds great. structuring wages to fit their needs is just another word for paying minimum wage.
