FORWARD .....

Not hand outs, they just generally, want Government to regulate Wall Street more, to step in and not allow unchecked markets. Those unchecked markets allowed the crisis. That's generally of course, as there are crazy ones.believer;1160354 wrote:The difference between the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Streeters, just as an example, is that the Tea Party wants the gubmint to GTFO while the OWS clowns want gubmint handout's. Nothing to hide there.
On your previous point. Both sides have rebranded each other many times over the past 30 years.
Still, point remaining, Forward is pretty cheesy. Then again, I'm not much of a slogan guy. I hate them in campaigns and in companies. -
Cleveland BuckI like it. It works for him. Forward into Iran. Forward into Syria. Forward into depression. Forward into bankruptcy. Forward into poverty.
Romney should use it too. -

A lot of goodwill would be won with the general populace if Government (I love the capitalization) regulated itself. We've created a monster. It has become a general entitlement program for the privileged class - it's the Bizarro Superman to Wall Street's Superman - and just as dangerous as either Superman. Especially with one political party in the Big Gov's pocket.
We won't survive this unless we change, and I don't mean the podunk Hope and Change promise - I mean real reform. No more public sector unions. No more government pensions. No more leeching off of the people paying the taxes. No more borrowing from China.
Sound good? Sounds impossible to me. We dug our grave in '08, not sure if digging it more will mean a difference. -

The size and scope of the government started to spiral out of control long before 08. Obama has simply continued down the same path we've been headed for some time.Manhattan Buckeye;1160904 wrote:We dug our grave in '08, not sure if digging it more will mean a difference.
Even everyone's folk hero Reagan ran for President for nearly a decade on the platform of small government, and only increased it in size once he was in power.
There is one guy who actually had a realistic shot of bringing real change in the size of the government, and the Republicans dismissed him as a wacko and unelectable two consecutive elections. They've made their bed, and come November, they're going to sleep in it(again.) -

Not tho the soldiers knew
Someone had blundered
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:

LOL You may be right. The sheeple bought-in on the media-assisted "hope & change" mantra 4 years ago and we've been paying the price. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we're stupid enough to give Obama 4 more years to drive us over the cliff.2kool4skool;1161434 wrote:There is one guy who actually had a realistic shot of bringing real change in the size of the government, and the Republicans dismissed him as a wacko and unelectable two consecutive elections. Meantime, rest assured that Paul talks a good libertarian game, but he would have had no realistic shot of making any real change in DC even if he had the charm & charisma necessary to win a national election. It's undeniable.
So, again, it always comes down to making a choice of who will take us over the cliff faster or slower within the broken two-party system that once served us reasonably well. -

Well it appears that is idiotic administration is attempting to run the worst re-election campaign ever.believer;1162049 wrote:LOL You may be right. Aside from the laughable claims (does anyone with an IQ about 70 not realize that government subsidies have driven up college costs)*, the campaign itself is inherently sexist. Jeez, I guess American women are so stupid they need the government to hold their hand throughout their lives. We deserve Obama if he's re-elected.
*Noticeably absent is a slide with "Julia" getting a 105% loan from Fannie/Freddie from our awesome and efficient government. -

[LEFT]President Barack Obama’s campaign attracted ridicule from conservatives on Twitter Thursday when it launched a slideshow depicting how Obama’s policies would aid “Julia,” a fictional woman, throughout her life. Below are 10 of the best #Julia quips on Twitter:
10.) Dana Loesch: OH: “Does anyone else notice that Obama is president for all of #Julia‘s life?”
9.) PolitixGal: Under Obama, #Julia can’t drive because gas prices have doubled, she can’t find a job & instead waits by the mailbox 4 Obama cash 2 arrive.
8.) mkhammer: 2-4-6-8! Every woman a ward of the state! #julia
7.) CaseyGeorge: #Julia died at age 78. She voted Democrat until age 92
6.) Sean Agnew: lemme guess… #Julia wants free contraceptives.
5.) Prudence Paine: in the life of #Julia, she quickly becomes a debt slave to the Chinese. good luck with the one-child policy!
4.) Teri Christoph: Is it me or does #Julia have “high cheekbones”?
3.) MattCover: Age 23: #Julia graduates. There are no jobs. Thanks to Obama, Julia can live comfortably in her parents’ basement.
2.) David Burge: #Julia “at 37, Julia completes her Masters degree in Interactive Website Design. At 43, she gets a job pulling a solar powered rickshaw.”
1.) Derek Hunter: By age 40 #Julia has written 2 autobiographies even though she’s accomplished nothing. Wait, that was Obama. Julia is still unemployed.
